Ordered the Stage 1 today...
Here is one link on the srt-4 on fire fromt he turbo heat shield mod...
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/show...ar+caught+fire
And here is the second one, though less accurate one..
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/show...ar+caught+fire
And i can't find the heat shield mod link, its there some place, unless ekool took it down, wich is happening a lot over there.
AS for anderson all his posts are over there do the search, i will quote only one that makes any sense and steve wasn't the one saying it, and should have went this way with the motor to start with.
from, super steve here is the link...http://www.srtforums.com/forums/show...steve+anderson
the quote"We are currently ordering and coordinating Steve's internal moddications for his new engine. It will be done right this time. All we were looking for was to actually see how much HP the stock engine could take. With proper tuning the stock engine could handle 500hp, but for how long is the question.
Forged pistons, Steel rods, balance and blueprinting, Stage 4 heads, cams, Stand alone, and everything else will be met this month, So stay tuned."
Funny but mopar put out 1500 hp from a stock srt-4 motor.....why is 500 a problem? The weakest link is the tranny and driveline.

andy, you forgot this link, where that same guy filed lemon law paperwork back in the beginning of April. I can find no, and can't remember any evidence of, him performing a "heat shield" mod. Not quite sure what that is. Do you mean removing the heat sheild for easy access the the WGA, if you have an adjustable one? Clarify, please. Maybe you mean removing the rubber gasket at the back of the engine bay, where the hood seals to? Please show any evidence of Vanilla promoting ANY mod that might cause fire. And claiming he did in threads that have since been removed won't cut it.
Next up.
That second fire was an improperly installed Mopar BOV, all peformed BY THE DEALER. Kid had them install, it leaked, he went back, they documented leak, retightened it without replacing the crush washer. If you read the whoe thread, Mopar got involved, and made the dealer sell him a loaded Ram pickup for like 24K. None of this caused by ANYTHING on the SRTforums. In fact, he would have been screwed in not for the forums, that's where Mopar learned of it and came to his rescue.

The whole point was that since he knew he was going to build a moster motor from the start, he magnanimously decided to answer a question that everyone has wondered, and many other boards have ridiculed, namely, how strong is the SRT motor. can it live long beyond 300whp? 350whp?400whp? Now we know, thanks to a VERY generous man. a quick quote form that same thread.
"Advice from myself 400 hp or under is more than sufficient. Anything over that and precise calculations must be met to accomodate those kind of numbers. "
Why look, he tells you flat out, not to do this unless you do "precise calculations" So not only are they NOT recommending a dangerous or harnful course of action , he spefically warns against it.

1500 from a stock SRT motor? You mean block, right? the block was not his point. The moving parts were.
Done.

Done.
And on the point two srt-4's did catch on fire from mods just like i said.
The heat shield mod was easy enough, remove it. And the guy did post pics of it.
With two blown motors i think he need's to recalculate those calculations.....
Mine is sucking, blowing, and charging as hard as ever....on the stock block, crank and head.
If i remember the mopar piece right, that was 1500 hp on the stock block and interns, with a aftermarket head and turbo, IC set up.
Finished.

Two car have caught on fire. Agreed
1. Caught on fire from dealer malpractice. Not from ANY advice this person recieved from ANYONE on the SRT forums. The forums has NO involvement in his mishap, besides helping bring his problem to resolution. The fire was not even caused by the mod, but by the mechanic not properly reinstalling a line after removing it to install the BOV.
2. There is NO evidence I can find that Vanilla Coke modified his car in any way. Which heat shield? And what was the supposed benefit to this?
Your car that you have never proven to have more than maybe the Mopar BOV and exhaust? I'm sure it's fine, just not making more than 230-240whp.
I would have to dig, but I believe that motor you talk of has the stock block and crank, all else is pretty beefed. Again, prove your facts or admit you are talking BS again.
And folks, I hope I am not doing wrong here, but i cannot stand by and let his trash them because he was abused for lying over there. He continues to misstate facts and cast aspersions that are not true.

I'm not even going to discuss Andersons deal anymore. Just becuase we don't have the money to toss around like that, does'nt mean he can't have fun any way he wants. The second engine was just something to do while he's building the beefed up motor.
Nice way to try and change the subject from:
"He told people to do things that blow up engines without warning them" to
"He's not calculating properly"
Who cares, the fact remains that they DID warn folks not to try this at home. I do love how when facts don't support your position, you subtly try to shift your position to something else.

Commonly referred to as "The Return of the 10 Second SRT-4"
Actually, the worst was when andy isisted he had seen a Stage 2 car before public release. After a thorough drubbing from Rezin and I he slunk off for a while, with an occasional good post. Heck we exchanged civil words a few times. I'm cool, but as stated, I can't let lies go unanswered.
