Word - I read your posts and people at work make fun of me for laughing so hard to myself!!
MOM when first meeting car. . .
MOM: I liked your civic better
MANDA: Yeah I know, it wasn't as fast
MOM: Ok, I heard how loud it is, you can turn it off now.
MANDA: Yes Mom
MOM: Shoulda kept your civic, shoulda kept your legend, shoulda kept your accord. . . . quit buying cars Amanda
MANDA: Yes Mom. . .
Had to con DAD into signing for it, haha

Good post about the mothers, folks.
Parents,,,,ya gotta love em.
My dad is nearing 70 years of age and still reads motor trend. I'm like, "dad,,,,,you drive a Lincoln....why do you read motor trend????"
MOPARman,,,,,you asked what kind of suspension I was on. Hint.....I have gold wheels. Therefore, what is the answer to my lowering choice????? Got it yet??? Answer: Goldline.
SRT-4Babe......funniest thing of what you said is when your mom told you to quit buying cars, Amanda. "Yes, mom." We have all given the "yes, mom" response.
When I had my car on MOM the other day, I went to flip back the sunroof. As soon as the sunroof starts to go back, mom puts her hands on top of her head for fear that the wind would mess her hair up. I was like, "calm down mom,,,,I will close it back." Bless her heart,,,,,65 years old and she still wants to look pretty. If you met her you couldn't help but love her.

Funny stuff!
My Mom handles my car pretty well, of course she's a bit younger than maslayer and she married an ol hotrodder in my dad. Matter of fact, she taught herself how to drive without the permission of my ol man in his shiny new '63 Supercharged Studebaker Avanti!!!!! That always makes for lively conversation when one of kids brings up the "so ma, tell us how you learned to drive again story" when the 2 of them are here. Ha Ha Ha! We are nothing, if not a bunch of button pushers, let me tell ya.
The car she's ok with, my Ninja? Uh, NO. I gave her a ride once. She about wrecked us. She's a rather large lady, and when I went to take a corner at a good, and legal speed, she was not prepared for just how much the bike would have to lean to maintain the arc. I really thought she was trying to climb off of the bike at 40 mph. Holy Crap! I was all over the road! I had explained to her about the leaning before the ride, but I guess to her it was a lot more dramatic in actual practice. Needless to say, that ride was cut way short, and we have not talked about it since.
Got to and do love ma and dad-cooker very much.

My Dad tryed to get me to buy my Mom's Buick, or a PT Cruiser. I quickly called all of my 3 sisters to reassure myself I hadn't entered THAT stage of my life yet. and continued to look at SRTs. After getting mine, my Dad looked at it and started to say "I don't unders..." and was quickly cut off by my Buick driving mother with "she deserves it" If you knew my Mother, you would understand why that subject was never mentioned again. ever. ( the "deserves it part" would take 3 days to type.... only part of it dealing with the before mentioned 91 Escort GT with 127 overweight shetland ponies under the hood)
RIPSIGUY-Did 40 hurt? I have an 8 year old boy- should I start trying to get him to like 3/4 ton pick ups now? He likes the sound of the turbo.......

LOL.......Fourty is wonderful, (the elderly crossing signs that were put up in my office were funny too! Better than that?Just think, you get to blame everything on "midlife" lol. ) Nothing hurts anymore, you come into your own and see things differently
. Let your son follow his own path. Just don't let him buy a FORD!!!!! Ughhh! OR, just save the SRT4 for another 8 years and he will be happy.[sm=happy046.gif]

What would you prefer....your son in an SRT-4.....or on the back of a Hayabusa motorcycle?
Hehehehehe I give my mother nightmares.....not only do I LOVE fast vehicles....but to top it off I have a motorcycle craving. My mother and grandmother have explicitly forbidden me to have a bike, yet both my uncles have one...
[8D] That's why having a garage is a good thing

Is your Mom grey too? I'm betting you were like my kid . NEVER turn your back. EVER.
Right now he wants a horse. (hummmm is this where it starts, I had horses.... flying with your hair on fire through the fields with questionable brakes)
He is MUCH more mechanically inclined than I. (I'm what they call a "trusty assistant" the desire but not the talent, resigned to being somewhat like an oily surgical nurse)
