Alright I'm sitting in my office at work. I decide for some strange reason to go take a look at my engine. Go look at it and my ****in intake is hanging off of its clamps... wtf. I have a AEM short ram... anyone else have this problem? I tightened those bitches tight when I installed it. WTF.

 

hi Izzy im not famillar with the intakes i have the stock one.......but i was thinking maybe you over tighted your clamps.and then vibration knocked them loose

 

I did that today when I looked at it, retightened the clamps... we'll see what happens.

 

Don't overtighten them you'll "strip" the clamp. Thats probably why they fell off. Buy some new 3" ones to be sure.

 

Hmmmm???? Do you have stock engine mounts? Does your intake have enough slack to move with the engine when it moves? When you say intake, I assume you really mean your CAI tube, not the actual intake manifold.

 

If you find that your clamp screws are backing off, you should learn how to safety wire them.

 

Correction, my intake tube is the one that got disconnected. I have an AEM short ram. It comes with a rubber adapter from the turbo to the tube... that part got disconnected, not the turbo side but the tube side... I checked last night and its ok, checked today in the morning seems ok as well. I am going to check on saturday morning, take it off and redo the thing.
