like in this road,,,like there is a fork
Fellow SRT brethren......it is decision time for me. I have come to a fork in the road. (Acutally, I'm glad it was a fork in the road, because the last time I went through there it was this greasy assed dead possum)
Two decisons I am making:
1) I am going to sell my gold wheels.
2) I am going to buy a staged kit. Now,,,,here is where I need help. I am thinking about going with a stage one and a kinetic WGA. I am thinking about doing this setup for,,well,,,obvious reasons.....less money. IF I do this setup, then I will run it on the stock lines. Why???? Because all that green and blue lined **** is damned confusing.
Now,,,,,,the other option is putting on stage 2. Now,,,in EITHER of these two scenarios, I am going to have to adjust the wastegate, so as to get it to drive right. Soooooo,,,,I'm thinking, if I have to do the adjustment thing, then why not just do the stage one and WGA for half the price.
IF I do the stage one WGA combo, that leaves me with enough money left over to get the short throw shifter, possibly a downpipe, and with any luck, some wrestling videos.
Thoughts/comments/or.......... for the ladies, sick fantasies????

Slayer your effin hillarious man. Go for the stage one... sounds like the better deal for the money I guess. How much are you willing to sell your wheels for? Are you willing to ship to Cali. I'll by them off you, got pics?
Word there is also the $300 set of injectors and $200 worth of sensors you get with stage2 that you dont with stage 1...If your just trying to get a couple more ponnies just go with the stage1 and WGA..But i will tell you the butt dyno loves the stage 2 and if you wanna have a lil fun i would go with the stage 2 with or without toys. From what i have seen the stage 2 is a lil more plug and play than just going with stage 1 w/ WGA,yes the ECU just plugs in but it seems like most people have to fiddle with this setup a lil more than the stage 2...There is alot of diff. posts and arguements about the comparisons you might just have to do a lil research to get a lil better of idea what would fit your needs(wants)best.

F'in Word, I just spit wine all over my keyboard!!!!
About the gold wheels... that sucks, sorry to hear it.
About stage kits.... IMHO go with stage 2.
Money situation will recover with time, ponies are hear to stay.
Synopsis:
When I test drove my car (after also test driving a Charger RT), I thought "WHT, this is faster than the Charger,... cheaper..., and as fast as you could ever want a car to be(and the promise of 30MPG didn't hurt either. And to think I believed that! That lie rates right up there with the classic three. Though in all fairness, there's no friggin way I can stay out of boost for 200+ mi., my bad) Anyways, the moral of the story is; No matter how good looking she is, some guy somewhere is sick of her ****... oops, wrong moral. Let's try again,.... No matter how fast it is, you will soon want faster. Ah yes, that's the one. We power hungry mortals adjust to the "Eyeball bounce off the back of the skull" of the day, and yearn for more. It's not our fault, it's just evolution at work (no correlation to "Evo"). Anyways, I feel that there is no such thing as "enough power" (and I have 45 yrs. of exp. to back me up. Which is 10 more than LSP set as her bottom line..... but I digress) To sum it up, go with stage 2.

Thanks guys! My gut was telling me that I should go with the stage two, but you know,,,,,when you think about how much money you can save by doing a stage one and a wastegate, it is so freaking tempting!
I guess I can get stage two and live without the short throw shifter, the downpipe, the exhaust and the wrestling videos.
I hope the car just screams once I put on stage two. I also really want that short throw shifter. I guess, once I get stage two, I will make the short throw shifter the next modification.
The wheels. They have been a bane to my existence. I really like the gold/bronze wheels. I do. BUT,,,for some reason, I don't like them on white. I think they would look good on every color SRT EXCEPT for the white and yellow ones. I KNEW that gold was pushing it. It didn't feel right, but I kept telling myself that gold was the thing.
I was like a crack addict. I couldn't get the gold off my mind. My rational side of my brain had given up. I was obsessing on the gold wheels. But,,,,,the inner bitch inside of me was telling me to choose a safer color. Go with polished aluminum. Go with black. Go with Chrome.....go with anything other than gold. But like a typical man, I wouldn't listen to logic.
Soooo,,,as it is right now, I go outside every morning and freaking analyze the wheels. I can't look at my car any more without wondering, EVERY TIME I LOOK AT IT, if I like the wheels look right or not. I tell myself that I like them, but I don't really think I do. The wheels, instead of bringing me **** like joy, bring me bewilderment. I constantly question my choice.
My wheels are Tammy Jasper. When I was in high school, I dated her. Everyone liked Tammy Jasper. I liked Sandy Murphy, though. I spent my best meat getting years with Tammy Jasper. It was an okay relationship, but I should have went for Sandy. Sandy was polished aluminum. I knew she was right. I'm 46 now and I have decided that Tammy and I are breaking up. I'm going to look for Sandy.
I guess you are right, Lightning.....maybe we never get enough power. Maybe that's the thing with men...we always want more.

I want more power too!! Some jerk in a Subaru Legacy GT has me itching to kick his *** in a race!
*hint hint RIPSIGUY* LOL Yes yes all in good fun, but the want for power is there.
Word heres my setup with prices:
Stage 1: used $200
Custom Exhaust: $520
Mopar BOV: Normally $60 but I got it for free

So just with that there I spent: $1415

Now add in the visual **** since your going for that too.

I'm sure I'm missing things, but heres the moral of the story. For the money spent on S2, I got much more done to my car to make it the way I wanted. Sure I still want more horsepower, but I wanted the visual aspects of the car as well, which is why I did what I did. Spend your money how you want. If you want different wheels and some cheap power for now, go with S1 and the Kinetic, you know why? Because you'll ALWAYS be able to sell them to someone else and buy something better.
Thats my advice. Take it one step at a time. Get the S1, WGA, and the wheels, buy an MBC used off someone cheap, and go from there.
*Edit* I'm missing:
- Grounding Kit $20 (for wires and connectors, 4ga.)
- Viper Hurst STS Shift **** $36
- Ichibahn Hose Kit $40
- Nightshades paint $17
- Paint for the hood/grille: $186
- Fan Switch Mod: $.13 in wire LOL

lsp, it would kill me to add up the tabs on my classic...
i would have hit the wall for sure by now and said enough is enough...my folder on it is as thick as the srt's manual.
....but...anyone have a 331 rotating assy lying aroud....goal:make the stang the fastest car i own no matter the cost.

Ok word,i like the gold wheels on white i think its really sweet looking..Before i bought my srt-4 i was looking at STI's and i wouldn't even bother talking to anyone unless it was WHITE or BLACK and it had to have the gold BBS.I have been doing some thinking though and i want to give you my opinion..Sell the gold wheels,i think the best looking wheels on your ride would go something like this: 17X7.5,Chrome lip(approx. 1 in thick),black face, more than 5 spokes(but tire rack has some called(ASA AR1)-(ASA JH8) and i think they look sweet on the white srt-z..Go over to tirerack.com when you have some time and check those out, like you said to each there own but that would be the way i would go!!! Hopefully this will help you sleep a lil better at night...
P.S. there fairly cheap to so you can go get some of those wrestling video's you been drooling about aswell!!!
