Default Pulley

I dont know if its pointless or bad to have a lightened underdrive pulley in the srt. Well is it? I had pullies in previous cars but never in a turboed car, whats the difference? wouldnt it make the engine rev really fast and put to much stress on the turbo?

Our cars have not responded well to underdrive pulley's. For some reason oil-pump failures are more common on cars with underdrive pulley's.

For the same money get a WGA and a MBC.

Manual Boost Controller ....

Perhaps the Underdrive pulley is acting as a harmonic balancer.

They are a waste of money for the SRT-4. I have learned that by watching other people's mistakes. Unless I am building strictly a race car I will not mess with the harmonic balance of a car.

According to Darrell ***, the drive pulley IS a harmonic balancer on our cars.

An aftermarket underdrive pulley? No-Way. Seems to be a leading cause of oil-pump failures.

I'll keep my stock pulley/balancer. The 5 extra hp the underdrive pulley might free up is just not worth the risk.

I put one on my Z and honestly I can tell a small difference but it was definately not worth the pain of the installation. I will never get one on the SRT4 then.
