have no idea
Welcome to Dodge Forum, Dave. You'll probably get more responses posting your question in the SRT-4 section. But in a nutshell, I've had both headlights crack and an air intake temp. sensor blow. That's it, knock on wood.

Alright,,,,,,I'm just kidding you,,,,they hold up fine. Just do the maintenance on it and sacrifice a chicken every so often and you will be fine.
Problems? Hmmm heres some common ones
- Plug wires dont hold up well to the heat of the turbo
Solution: Replace/Upgrade
Suggestions: MSD 8.5mm wires or Magnacore 8.5mm wires
- Plugs run way too hott for the car
Solution: Replace/Upgrade
Suggestions: NGK Iridiums gapped to .052, or NGK 4306's gapped the same way, unless your modded gap them lower (.035-.040)
- Third gear is evil at times
Solution: Welp...not too much you can do until you actually blow third gear, though most usually don't, if you do, your dealer will fix it. Very common in 2005's, not as common in 2004s.
- Motor Mounts are too soft
Solution: Upgrade/Replace
Suggestions: Motor Mount Inserts for less vibration, Solid Motor Mounts give more vibration
- Excess oil blowby sitting in the intercooler
Solution: Install a Catch Can
Suggestions: You could spend $85 bucks on one, or you could just get the $20 OCC (see thread up top stickied with info)
- TPS Sensor goes (p0123) due to the wire being too short and unable to withstand torque of the engine
Solution: Replace it
Suggestions: www.moparsupercenter.com sells a TPS repair kit for around $17, or you can take it to your dealer for a free fix under a TSB
- Water leaking onto the passenger side floor
Solution: Take it to the dealer
Suggestions: Welp it could be anything from the cowl panel, to the firewall or a windshield thats not sealed properly. Its under warranty let them deal with that nonsense
- Ebrake light comes on under hard acceleration
Solution: Your Brake Fluid is slightly low or moderately low
Suggestions: Top it off with Mopar DOT 3 or DOT 4, DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC BRAKE FLUID, you dont have it stock, and they cannot be mixed.
Tips and suggestions:
- Dont go any more than 3,000 miles for an oil change, this car eats oil like a pig, and I've had a friend that went 5,000 and had hardly any oil left in his engine. ALWAYS use Full Synthetic oil, Mobil1 5w30 is factory recommended and I've had the best luck with that.
- Dont be stupid, dont run anything less than 91 in the car, if 93 is available go for the 93. People always ask if they can run something less, if you can't afford the avg of $26 bucks to fill up the car, you shouldn't own it.
- Change your transmission fluid every 18,000miles, the manual says to do it, which means its neccessary. Use Mopar ATF+4 and Friction Modifier, or head to your dealer and have them do it, it only costs about $65 bucks to do a drain and re-fill.
- Watch out for torque steer, gas it around a corner and you'll find your steering wheel sticking where you DONT want to be going. FWD and alot of power sometimes don't mix all that well, just something to be careful of.
- Launching, well if ya wanna race, launch from a low RPM 1200-1500 stock. Keep it revved there, dont just rev it up and let it fall back down. Feather out the clutch and find the happy point once you hit second gear. On a stock car its not nearly as bad as it is on a modded car running higher boost.
Be nice to the car, its nice to you. Meaning, do your scheduled maintenance, it'll run a happy and long life.

Freak'in Word... you had me going. I was ready to give a sympathy reply. Something like " Word, that sucks man, maybe it was just the rims?"
Anyways, Dave, I have an '05 with 7.4K on it with no probs yet. BTW, don't judge by LSP, her car has been posessed by a demon since she got it (sold it to herself, how ironic). Most people have good luck with them as long as there is some semblance of respect (lack of respect was not the case with LSP, just demonization!!)
Anyways, good luck with it, and welcome to the funnyfarm.
As a side note, most will say that '04 is the best year to own (not me, of course, but most)

Hi Dave.
You ask for problems? Every car has some sort of problems. You will hear them here because the only people here own SRT-4's. I have 17,700 miles and have had my computer reflashed, new plugs and wires and two fuel injectors replaced. But I seem to be the only one with fuel injector problems. But so what, it was covered by the warranty and this car is so much fun to drive it didn't matter.
