also i found this place..some more good info on filters........
heres a quote on k@n filter The K&N HP-1004 is a great filter. The internal construction is the same as the Mobil 1 filter, but it does not filter the down to as small a particle size. This filter is meant to maintain higher flow while still actively filtering, as opposed to by-passing. Lab tests using Mobil 1 at 7500 miles indicates that this filter works as well as the AMSOIL SDF-20.

3k/3mo as usual, even with synthetic. turbos run very hot and are hard on the oil.

My friend Anthony had the bright idea of extending his to 6,000 miles.....he got the grand surprise of hardly having any oil in his engine. But he knows best, the bottle told him he can run twice as long....guess what, the bottle lies. 3,000 miles or 3 months like PSIChick said, no more.

Amsoil 7,500 Mile oil I recomend using only 5,000 miles at most. As far as fliters, as long as they're warrentied they're good, but I use a brand named MIGHTY, professsional grade and I order them from where I work. I used Purolator filters before I started working at an Oil change. Mobile one is over rater. For the SRT-4 I think you'd be happier with Royal Purple. Either way keep it to 3,000 miles. If you don't drive it as much, you can go longer than 3 months on it because it doesn't get broken down by water or the weather. Amsoil was contracted by NASA in the 60's to produce the FIRST synthetic oil for their avaition sector. It keeps its viscosity the same through a wider temperature range than Moblie 1.

I am an area manager for 14 Instant Oil Change shops in Kentucky and have been around this kind of question for about 10 years now! The proven choice for best less wear and rated the #1 motor oil for Turbo motors is Valvoline Synpower but Mobil 1 will give you great preformance too! You can spen the $ on the Expensive Filters and think you are getting more bang for your buck but when is your car going to take a chance of running 4000 lbs of oil pressure? The more $ you pay for the filter is just more quality that goes in to making the filter.

I prefer Mobil 1 full synthetic, but I have used Valvoline full synthetic, and Valvoline durablend with great results.

You couldn't give me a case of fram filters. Mopar filters scare me because of the way the are packaged. We found a large metal shaving in one (like a shaving off of a milling machine) down in the center hole. Yikes!

Purolator makes a premium filter called Micronic PureOne. I saw some SAE tests and it did very well, AND, my oil comes out cleaner than with a Mopar filter.
It's reasonably priced also.

heres what the guy in the first link said about mopar filters

these filters are Frams, Purolators, or Wixes. Mopar does not manufacture it's own filters, nor do they require anything special from these manufacturers. Since they basically paint them a different color, stamp them with a Mopar logo, and double the price, there is no reason to buy them. Sadly, the Mopar Severe Duty 53020311 filter is actually the worst filter of them all. It is a Fram Extra Guard.

either way im going to get mobil one products this weekend

I simply go with Mobil 1 all the way around, both oil and filter, but I also like the K&N oil filter too.
