My friend says he knows a guy that has a SVT Cobra and he wants to race me. i dont know the year or anything but do you think i could take him. he wants to put money on the race so i need to know if i will win. if i do then i can get my AGP wastegate. also do you think i can take a S2000. i have raced them before and won but i wasnt sure of the driver. anyone with any experience with these cars.

 

If its an 03-04 SVT cobra he is going to seriously rape you in a race. With slicks I have seen stock 03-04bcobra's run a 12.8 in the 1/4mile. If its any earlier year then it will be close race.

 

You need more info...like year and if it's been modded. I wouldn't put any money on the race. Not on a 03/04 Cobra anyway. The S2000 should be more of an even match for the SRT.

About the S2000, maybe..they have a 240hp four banger too so it may be close. Don't quote me, I'm no Hondite.

 

all i have is a short ram intake, a mopar bov, MSD plug wires, and a mbc that i cant get to work right (i might take it off for the race). i need to win some races so i can buy my AGP Wastegate.

 

I'm just going to be the voice of reason here and tell you dont waste your time. You obviously arent very familiar with cars....and while that doesnt mean you cant race a car....I just think you are going to get setup and burned badly....The s2000 would be more of a comparable race for you...and one you should win.

Stock SVT Cobras were mid 13 seconds and the 03/04 models came with an S/C that was pushing them down around low 13's upper 12's with the right tire setup. Again, that's stock....

 

believe me i know the 03/04 would kill me but i dont know anything about the other years. i know this guy is a mexican that lives in Costa Mesa and i am guessing he has an older SVT. that is why i am asking. im not worried about the S2000 and its 240 hp and 160 ft-lbs. the car weighs as much as a srt-4 too. and trust me i can drive.

 

Forget the Cobra my friend. He's just looking for someone to beat up on.

An S2000? As long as you get a good launch, you'll take it. Those VTEC engines need to spin to make power.

 

you should probably know more than his ethnicity and where he lives and what type of car he has before putting money on a race...

 

If its an 03-04 just say NOOO. But if its an 01 or older it would be a descent race since you both would run in the 13's for the 1/4mile.
