Anyone Race A 350Z??
Wussup..I'm a couple of years older than my 18 year old bro and he has a stock 04 350Z..I got a 04 srt-4... stock as well...I am headin up to my parents house and hes braggin that hes going to blow my doors away and that i'll need a head start..Anyone ever play around with one of these stock and how did you do..Any input would do..thanks
A 350Z was my first kill in my SRT-4. He pulled up behind me at a red light leading to Fort Sam Houston here in San Antonio. He was gunning his engine so I pulled out fast, waited for him to get even with me, and then we both punched it. No contest. The higher the speed got, the faster he dropped back. A BMW "something" gave me a closer race a few weeks ago, but again, the SRT-4's top end won out....[sm=smiley16.gif]
cool..I'm a good stick driver and even though i've had my car for under 2 weeks I got it pretty good down pack..I thought I would have an edge but didnt know for sure..My guess is that hes going to get me off the line but i will be with him at the end of second gear..dont know for sure yet..
Launching a SRT-4 takes practice for anybody. The trouble is, with a new SRT-4 you need to break the engine in...vary your engine speeds...Don't race it in 1st gear which is very easy to do. Wait until the first oil change at least before starting to abuse other people....[sm=smiley4.gif]
I'm tryin to wait hehe...I have been driving it all over town..not racing really at all but I've had the car for 11 days and i have 900 miles on it already..My friend who got a s2000 said thats not really too much compared to what he put on his car the first week..
Just don't ruin all your future racing chances by being too quick to take on your first one...if you're going to drag race, don't forget to lower your tire pressure to about 22-25 psi......it'll help your launch...[sm=smiley16.gif]

You've got him beat to death. The 350Z's that I have personally seen run were running low 16's, high 15's if they were lucky. The magazines seem to be able to get them into the low 14's. Sport Compact Car magazine got a stock 350Z to run 14.2 and the NISMO 350Z ran 14.1. Pro drivers = low 14's, joe average = high 15's - low 16's. AKA: You Win!!!
