Painted Hood scoop
How does the scoop come out? I tried to get mine out, but the top part seemed to be caught on something and wouldn't come out and I wasn't going to force it out. I want to cut out the part that forces the air down and keeps it from flowing as much as it could. I have also thought about painting that in, but I'll go with the decals.
dude its mad easy just take the to nut type things off the under side then slide it foward (or pull foward if your using the 2 screw things) and then pop up. its cake man go check it out.

I took the nuts off then tried to get the threaded posts up and out first then tried pulling it out. It must have been getting caught on the lip and wouldn't come loose. I'll pull it forward first next time.[sm=smiley2.gif]
OK, at the site it looked like they were trimming them up first.

I shouldn't have a problem with it, I will use my Craftsman rotary tool to do it with. I think it will help flow a whole lot more air to the turbo. Did you notice how small the slot is for it and how it directs the air down instead of letting it flow straight into the scoop and back to the turbo. That design just seems to be restrictive and not that effective for what it's made for, cooling the turbo.
Got my vinyl hoodscoop lettering today- looks pretty dang good- here are some pics- you can't see it in the front fascia view (I've GOT to get a better camera), but it gives you an idea what it looks like w/ the turn signals.

right on barny looks nice... im kinda glad i painted it now that i see yours because the paint is really noticeable. like in your second pic i can bairly see your lettering and i can see mine from pretty far away... so i guess the extra 3 bucks and 3 hrs was worth something lol.
Yeah, definitely- yours will last longer than mine, that's for sure. I was going for something a little more subtle- they have silver decals as well if someone wanted them. I use blue as an accent color to the silver so that it's not really obvious unless you're looking directly at it. Just me though- I actually think yours looks pretty sweet (so to speak).[sm=smiley22.gif]
