Summer Driving Temps
Jeez, it's still May, it's still Spring and it's 104 degrees here. I saw some sort of "cold packs" for turbos on Summit Racing, I think. Anybody know of anthing else?
The cooler the intake charge, the cooler the turbo, at least on the intake side. DEI has an intake cooler that places a tear drop shaped bulb into the intake tube the has CO2 pass through it causing it to freeze and the intake air temp drops as it passes by it. Cooler air also produces more power.
I'll have to check out their website...they're the same folks that made my spark plug wire sheaths.....[&:]
BTW, the service advisor said to use synthetic oil, keep the coolant topped off with the HOAT coolant ( or ones that work with it like Prestone 5/150 Extended Life), and flush out the intercooler/radiator at the car wash once a week. I also prop the hood open after I get home on 100+ degree days....[&:]
If you got the stage 2 kit just throw some ice cubes in your windshield washer resivor and turn on the turbo toys to auto.. LOL
the heat shield stuff doesnt work too well.. best bet would be an intercooler sprayer or the DEI intake chiller.. but your going to need a CO2 tank...

Yeah, I'm lucky in the fact that I go to work at 5 a.m. and come home at 2 p.m., before most of the heavy traffic starts. You're right, the smart people stay off the road in "the midday sun".....(mad dogs and Englishmen not included). [&:]
