2 STEP(stutter box)?
So i have seen alot of DSM's running around with these(for anyone that dont know what it is,its so when you launch you almost have full boost).Just seeing what all i would need to put one on the car?Im not planning on doing it to soon but it is definately in the near future.thanks
the installation is easy, a hour or two and it's in. it's not cheap though, the dis-2 box is about $400 and the tach driver another $100 or so. oh and i forgot that there's a harness you need, that's like $50 or something. if you search around you can find decent deals, and there's always used ones for sale. i know of a used one that's up for sale now if you're interested in it.....
Man i wish i could but i just bought MCHAT's hardpipes and i bought my beast fmic this morning so im a lil broke for the time being...Just for future reference what does a used setup usually go for?thanks
IIRC, I sold my old MSD DIS-2 for $150.
I picked up the MSD DIS-2 programmable which has ALOT more features from Summit Racing for about $40 more than the standard DIS-2 though...

I haven't seen the ignition amplifier that Revitup sells, I'll look for it. But I'd be cautious about mixing and matching ignition components.
just curious, why would you want to launch a fwd at high boost, awd I can see. Mine I have trouble all through 1st and 2nd. I wish there was something to were you could launch with less boost to get more traction annd towards the top of second the boost starts to increase.
i think it's pt performance that has a boost controller like that. it slowly creaps up. with the 2 step we're not launching at full boost, i build around 7psi at the line. this isn't a big deal on slicks as traction issues are pretty much solved, and having the turbo in positive boost also helps as you don't have to wait for it to spool then.
