Yikes!
I took the car for a test drive this morning, because of how the car seemed to be pulling me all over the road. Here's what's happening. First, let me say that I put on a needswings downpipe last week along with a stage one chip.
The car is running like a light switch. When you get a little over half throttle, the boost gauge starts to peg and the car almost wants to jump out from under you. It's like it is all or nothing. The boost guage, literally, just flies around to the end of the guage. If you try to back off and hold it at three quarter's throttle, the boost guage will hang around at 17 or 18, but will shake like crazy. I think something I did wrong on the install of the downpipe and ECU really has messed it up. Any ideas on what I did wrong??? It is throwing no codes and the boost guage sits at 0 when the car is turned off.

Okay,,,,just checked the intercooler pipes and they are both on and I couldn't see anything that looked like a hole or anything. There is also nothing leaking underneath the car. It's just boosting insanely high. If you go just a little over half throttle, it sounds like air whooshing and the boost needle just pegs itself.
What about resetting the pcm??? Could the computer just be out of sync or something???

No,,,,I haven't checked that yet. I don't have any kind of way to lift the car, so all I can do is to barely get my head underneath it to look around. I did get underneath it earlier and I checked where the pipes went into the intercooler and they *seemed* okay. I have no other real way to get any further under the car to get a closer look. I parked the car in the garage with a sheet underneath the motor and nothing is leaking on it. I wish there was a way I could check it closer. But it is an intercooler pipe problem, right?
i had an mr2 turbo years ago and when the piping from the turbo to the intercooler came loose it wasdoing exactly what you just described.
