Do Stage 2 and Water injection mix?
I was going to go stage 3. Well, the dealership I work for will honour any warranty work done on stage 1. They will honour all warranty except clutch and axles with stage 2. Fair enough. Stage 3........they didn't really give me an acceptable or straight answer, sooooo, I'm going to stick with stage 2 w/ turbo toys until I get a few more miles on my baby (currently I've got 3900) like around 30,000 or so. Anyway, to my question. I'm also going to get an exhaust depot hardpipe kit with the HKS BOV and since the pipe comes with a pre-threaded hole it only makes sense to me to plug the hole with water injection. Is w/i worth having on stage 2? Will it make any difference? Harm anything? Like I said, stg 3 is in the future so it would be good to have for it, but is it compatable with stg 2 w/ toys without any negative effects? Surely it would help with HOM..........
Sweet. Thanks for the info. Right on the intercooler pipe before the throttle body is where you would mount the sprayer correct? Also, what ratio of water to methanol would you use?
the best mix is a 50/50 or a 60/40. the best mix that i've seen is called boost juice. it's a 49% meth/51 h2o mix, you can get it from snow performance or at a few other places. it's not cheap, runs about $45 for a 4 gallon pack of it, but it's great stuff.
What exactly does water injection do? Isn't water in the intake a bad thing? Sorry about my ignorance..[>:]

Boosted cars love WI. Particularly our cars, make sure to mount the WI nozzle so that it hits the air BEFORE the AIT sensor, that sensor is used by the ECU to help determine what timing to run.
As for the mix, I mix my own. Distilled water from the Grocery Store (about $1 a gallon) and Methanol from the race fuels vendor (about $3.50 a gallon), works out to about $2.25 a gallon, and I go through about a gallon a month.
Edit: As for the results...
While tuning my car @ 28psi, I switched from a 375 jet to a 625 jet and picked up just over 20whp on the dyno (470 to 490), so I can't imagine what it would have been without the WI. Also watching the AIT reading, on a 116 degree day (middle of summer in AZ) the air coming out of the intercooler was 120 degrees, after the WI it was 82 degrees... that's almost 40 degree temp drop with the WI. So yea, it works
