Default BOV?

I just installed the turbonetics raptor bov and i had a question,is this BOV suppose to flutter and make the pssssssssss sound? The reason i ask is it only makes the flutter sound(which is comin from intake off the turbo)even at WOT.So do i need to adjust this thing or can i just leave it?Im not worried about the noise i just want to make sure im not gonna hurt anything..thanks

adjust it. it shouldn't make any noise unless it's releasing pressure, which it should only do at idealy 0, but if you have to go +1.

I would check to make sure the bolts holding the BOV onto the pipes are tight. Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure I loosened it up when I took it off.

Can you send a pic of how you have it setup? Vacuum lines and such?

Dont really have access to a digital cam for pics..I can kind of explain it,i removed the pink line completely, removed the blue line and capped where it tied into lines by the turbo, the black vac line that went to vac pack was removed, where that black line connected to the TB is where i tapped into for the bov.I turned the 90 deg. elbow to the right and plugged the bottom part of the T(the part that only comes out one way)into there, there is a solid black platic line that i plugged into the top of the T and i ran the opposite side that the black line is hooked into to the BOV.Sorry might be kind of confusing but its the only way i can think to explain it..

I'm new to this forum and I'm also new to turbo cars. I have a 05 with an AEM sri, and should have my stage-1 the beginning of next week. I installed the booger shifter bushings and the inserts in the motor mounts. My question is about bov's. Do they help performance any or are they just there to make extra noise? The flutter someone else mentioned I get normal driving shifting from 1st to 2nd. but after that I get a light swoosh noise and was wondering if I had a bov would it just be louder? I guess what I want to ask is, is a bov beneficial and to what extent? Also is the Mopar bov plate good enough? Thanks for all your help.....

Think that flutter could be coming from the intake instead of the BOV?

Chryslerbill to answer your question, no they don't help performance, unless you have one with a hard pipe like this setup. They allow you to hold higher boost levels than you normally would without a leak. They vent air to atmosphere, keeping it out of the turbo. Mopar BOV is supposedly good till 19psi, but we'll argue back and forth here all day about that. And the mopar is a BOV, just not 100%

And next time make another post....
