Alright,,,,,I'm seeing a mechanic tomorrow about my over boosting problem, but in addition, I am getting the ever so dreaded.......

blue plate special.

Questions:

Do I need to put a sealant on it?

How much torque (gawd, I love that word) should be used in putting it on?

What do I need to do/know to make this blue plate function to perfection?

 

Get some Permatex Hylomar HPF and put a THIN coating on both sides of the gasket.....no place else.

I got mine at Pimp Boys, but I'm sure AutoZone/Advance/Etc. would carry it as well. It's pretty popular stuff.....

Dusty, that was a GREAT fruedian slip.... or not. Either way, I was rolling on the floor!

 

i put mine on myself and didnt put any type of sealent on it. i have no problems YET. do you think i will? i didnt torque it down i just felt that all 3 bolts where on evenly.

 

im sick of my blue plate [:'(] i want a greddy type s is anbody else tired of the some ol' phssss all the time ?

 

i dont even have the BOC conv. kit. i dunno, with my evo i got tired of it and i felt a lil power loss. but the blue palte is soo cheap that im tempted. is it worth it? anyone?

 

BOV's have nothing at all to do with any kind of power loss or gain.

 

I enjoy mine. Yes, there are louder ones out there, but I get plenty of looks with mine as it is.......and the price is right.
