Default taste test

Thought I might do a review for everyone on my rice plate.

I had it installed on Friday and here are my thoughts on it. Kind of neat, but nothing awe inspiring. I thought it would be a little louder than what it was. I had worked out a deal, when I bought my car, that they would give me a little something, from mopar, to sweeten the deal, but I had never gone back up there to get my prize. Sooooo,,,,,I chose the rice plate.

It never really does a pffft sound that well in the first to second gear change. On the second to third gear shift, if throttling it pretty heavily, it does a much better pffft sound. It doesn't require *that* much throttle to make it pffft. It sounds kind of like my car is sniffing. Hard to spell what a sniffing sound sounds like.

If you are just lightly cruising in third gear and just kind of bump the throttle, it will do the pfffft sound. It's kind of neat, but it certainly wouldn't be something that I would actually pay for.

I've done six mod's to my car now. Here is the order, from top to bottom, of how I like the mod's.

Lowering springs (Goldline)
Needswings downpipe
Stage one
Wheels
Mopar BOV
Shorty antenna

Not to put bad thoughts into your head... But hopefully they installed it right... Should be pretty loud, blowing off from 10vac+

Dang it, Andy. I think you are right. It doesn't seem nearly as loud as I thought it would be, but the dealer did it, so it seems hard to believe that they could have done it wrong. I took Dusty's suggestion and had the mechanic put that perma stuff on the gasket, so I would think they did it right. I almost had my friend of mine, who is a mechanic do it, but I knew I could get the dealer to put it on at no charge. I dunno......I'm wondering now if it is right. This is the only mod that I've done that I am not thrilled with. I just expected a little more.

Unfortuantely, I've heard of the dealer installing them wrong before.

There's a half moon hole on the plate that must line up with the same hole on the housing... It's very easy to put it on wrong, if you don't look. I installed my forge bov wrong the first time because I completely forgot to line the holes up.

If it's not making the pssssshhhh when you just rev the engine in neutral, I would say it's not on right for sure.

Dealers/mechanics hate putting those in.....my dealer quoted me a decent price to install it ( I furnished the Permatex) and when it came time to settle up, the service manager mentioned the only reason they didn't charge more was because of the donuts and breakfast tacos I had left in the car for the mechanics......

Hey, whatever works! Down here, it's breakfast!!!

I had my dealership put in mine, i traded in my free lube jobs for the install, they did a good job, they put that perma stuff on and i did a leak test afterwards and do one once a month, so far so good. But yeah you should here it even at 10vac. I mean it's not really REALLY loud but i can hear it in all my shifts no problem.

Good grief.....I don't know if the freaking thing is on right or not. I swear,,,,I wish to high heaven that I knew someone who lived within 200 miles of me that had a modded SRT that I could talk to. If I could just see or hear someone else's car, then maybe I could learn a little more about mine.

My car makes a tiny little pssssh in the first to second gear and the other gears it does a stronger psssh. Maybe that's normal.

I shift anywhere from 3500 - 4000 on a regular basis as well.... Gas milage sucks, but I didn't get the car for that reason so......
