aight, now im gettin a clearer picture. i've done a little snoopin (mainly my girlfriend who lives a few doors down from him and has known him a while) and found out he has ALOT of problems with his car. He bought it for $14,ooo and has spent almost $9,ooo in mods/repares. so i think hes runnin a beat up engine that might not be puttin out the power its suppose to. hes got no shocks, bald tires, fried ignition (multiple times). only thing is he is lighter so that might be somethin to check on.

what do you guys think?

 

If you want to run him, empty out your trunk of the spare tire, and all the junk back there. Don't have more than a quarter tank of gas, lower the front tire pressure, and practice, practice, practice your launches......

Sounds like your typical "ricer boy" to me.
Talks alot of shiz about how fast / bad *** his car is but instead its all Fuggered up.
Prolly looks like crap too. Is it held together with zip ties? Primered body kit still? Loud repulsive sounding HUGE fart can in the back? Ripped out passenger seat? Monster oversized Tac on the dash so everyone can see how fast his car is? NOS stickers on it? Type S decal anywhere?

I could go on.............

sounds to me that most likely doesent know how to do his car up right and prolly has several of these "Mods" on his car.

Seriously, just run him. Take him to the track and just run the cars. It'll be fun and so what if you lose a few bucks.

This is where I'll be showing my age, but I don't get why people are so keyed up about racing and losing. When I was younger, I'd run anything. I never worried about whether I'd win or lose. I did it for the fun of it. Just race your cars and have a good time doing it. If he wins, I can guarantee you that you won't lose any manhood over it. Go for it and have fun.

 

Yeah jsut race for the hell of it. See what happens......if you loose youll atleast know what he has and know what you need to do to win next time.

True, true, true. A race doesn't mean diddly-squat in anyone's book......if that's the way you justify your manhood, you're going to have problems later in life.......for a quick fix, try the military......good pay, good benefits and some machines that NOBODY can beat!!!

i cant believe all of you think he might have a chance of losing. do you realize the car he is racing, IT IS A CIVIC!!!!!!!! just race him and take your money and buy a sri or a s1.

 

yeah, i havent really gotten into racing much but i think it would be fun. if he wins, he wins. to me it isnt a big deal. i jus want to make sure it is even. if its one thing i hate, its a hustle. ive done a fair share of hustlin in my day, but i'll never get hustld myself

jus to make sure everyone is clear... i am a responsible car owner (unlike my possible future opponent). im not gonna run my car beyond its limit jus to win. to smart for that. also, any racin done will be done at the track were it can be monitored safely and no innocent people can get hurt. jus me, Tornado, the civic, and the tree...

if it goes down, it'll be in jersey so all jersey SRTs come out and support ur fellow SRT bro... stay tuned for further details

 

disagree with dusty on military being good pay... and lowering the pressure in your tires for a street race. imo its only needed at the track sometimes and a waste of time on the street.

mxrnick: its going to be a sad day when you see a fast civic because anyone with a fast one doesnt talk **** they will make that loss hurt.

jboom: i really doubt that you will loose if you can drive, ive raced a few boosted hondas (eng swap/turbo crx, turbo integra, turbo civic 03') and the closest was the crx which was behind me by 1/10 at the track and was 3 mph slower. im not stock but at the time of these races i was s2 with some supporting mods, and the hondas i raced sound like a lot more done up than the one your facing.

 

first of all i know what i am looking for when i see a car. there are ways of telling if a car is fast just by looking at the outside. look at the tires if what he said is true about them being bald he will never hook up in his front wheel drive civic. second look at the brakes, no one is going to build a really fast car that wont stop. and the final word is there are no fast civics. unless you spend 10 grand on pure porformance parts your civic will still be a civic. and like you said no one with a fast sleeper will talk **** and if what jboom said is true (again) about this guy talking smack then you know he has a pos. so what i need jboom to do is race this guy so we can settle this once and for all.
