Default anyone w/k&n cai notice a difference?

i'm waiting for the new k&n cai to arrive & was wondering if anyone else had it and if they noticed a difference. i'm excited to get it in & see what happens. i went with k&n b'cuz i had one in my old 2l '01 neon but on that it DID make a difference! i was pretty satisfied with the quality of the part.

I have one, first thing u notice is the whisttling sound lolz, but after putting it on and driving around i coudln't really notice a difference but at the track my best time was 11.85 in 1000ft, but after i've got down to 11.52, dont know how much of that was due to the cai but i know it had had to help some. U will be happy with it so no worries.

I love mine and it does make a difference, but not a big one. The factory airbox setup is pretty good for stock and it pulls the air from outside the engine compartment and doesn't have any bottlenecks. A CAI on a first gen Neon makes a huge difference due to the incredibly stupid way it's setup and how it narrows and gets superheated by running across the engine twice and having the airbox right above the exhaust. You will like it, but it won't give you the kick in the pants you might be expecting.

I just installed a KN FIPK setup on my 2005 SRT-4 this past weekend. I went with the FIPK because I was worried about hydrolock and didn't want the hassle of installing drychargers and shortening the CAI to and FIPK type air intake everytime it rains. The only difference I've noticed is the sound, hell I can even hear the stock blow off valve now. It sounds great, it certainly doesn't seem to have hurt the performance and if I can believe KN's claims I should have an additional 10 HP.

if you're really looking for a bit of performance, invest in a good heat wrap, and wrap the cai. our engine compt. gets damn hot, and you'll be suprised what a difference it makes in temps. the downside is it covers up the nice looking anodized aluminium.

I've got the K&N as well. As most people mentioned, the biggest difference is in the sound. There are some performance gains, but they are not hugely noticable. I tried to do a couple of G-Tech runs before and after, but couldn't get good readings for some reason.
