Default Turn Me Loose, Set Me Free, Somewhere In The Middle Of Montana....

Just a note for anyone trying to send me PM's (personal messages) for the next week or so....I'll be losing myself in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and Lewis and Clark National Forest in Montana....no telephone, no PC, only the Forest Ranger will know where I'm at (maybe). I'll be surviving on MRE's and my wits (please no comments about how the grizzly bears will outwit me, that's why I'm carrying my Ruger Redhawk .44 magnum- peace officers are authorized and I shipped it in advance to avoid a hassle at the airport).

I'll miss all you guys and gals and my SRT-4 as well!!!!!!!!!!!![sm=smiley19.gif][sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley4.gif]

Oooh, I'll miss you too!! But please, don't shoot any bears... And make sure you put out any fires, only YOU can prevent forest fires... hehehe!! Sorry, couldn't resist that one. Be safe!! I KNOW you need to lose yourself for a bit, but don't forget you've got a whole family back here missing you (and the SRT-4 as well)!!

And you've been out of the services for how long? MRE's...? C'mon... take a gas stove and make mac n' cheese!! LOL!! Just kidding... but are MRE's really yummy enough to WANT to eat??

Are you camping? Or will you at least have a cabin type thing with no electricity? No potties...? Oooh, don't forget the T.P.

Good luck Dusty. Enjoy those MRE's. I don't think they make one with doughnuts.
Too bad you can't take the SRT-4 with you. I know I will miss my baby when I head over to the desert in a couple months, but the thought of Stage 3 when I return will keep me motivated. Oh yeah Stage 3.......................[:-]

Yeah, the Forest Service has cabins they built in various locations on the federal property up there....they are just basic shelter, with maybe a few pots and pans. Gotta bring your own TP...they are first come, first serve. They were put up mainly as a "survival shelter" for the winter, but they are good for the summer as well....and they are free. I hope the ones I know about are still there!!!!

The MRE's aren't that bad, really. I've eaten them while I pulled dispatch duty at the PD since I can't leave the desk. They've gotten a lot better since the days of C-Rations and K-Rations......[:'(][:'(][:'(]

Jeez, that reminds me, gotta bring the Deep Woods OFF...the bugs up there are the size of eagles!!!!!![:@]

My favorite is the "chili and macaroni" one....the "beef patty" one is OK.....hopefully, I'll have some freshly caught trout to go along!!!!![sm=smiley4.gif]

True. The peanut butter and the crackers are pretty tasty. I save the little tiny Tobasco bottles, as well...they go good on "huevos rancheros" (Mexican style eggs w/hot sauce)!!![&:]
