would it really affect the car much if i got thicker wires but not a new coil? or should i just get both?

Yes. The MSD ignition coil has the exact same output as the stock coil, but it has better quality material and windings inside. The wires will give you tons more spark. The stock wires have roughly 2,300+ ohms resistance on the 2 & 3 (shorter) wires and 3,000+ ohms resistance on the 1 & 4 (longer) wires. The MSD Super Conductor plug wires are less than 50 ohms resistance per foot of wire and since the longest wires (1 & 4) aren't even a foot long that's even less resistence. I would guess the long wires to be around 40 ohms resistance and the short ones to be around 25 ohms resistance. That's almost 100 times more spark energy than the stock wires. If your looking for more performance, then all you will need is the wires.[sm=smiley2.gif]
