Is there a big difference in weight between 17" and 18" rims? Also what does the second number mean (ex. 18"x7.5). Which is better? 7 or 7.5? Thanks

No there isnt much weight difference the second number refers to width. wider is usually better as long as it doesnt rub.

I would go with a 7.5 width. If you want lite rims than you will probably pay a little more than just blings. I want to get a lighter 18" wheel. I would like to get some volk racing wheels but those can be pricey.

Thanks guys. I'm looking at getting some 18x7.5's and I was just wanting to know if that will slow me down much. I think it may cost me 1/10 of a second or so in the 1/4 mile. If it's more than that please let me know. I am going to get them as soon as I need some new tires which after the last time at the track will be soon I think. Thanks again.

You will most likely lessen your ET's. Most aftermarket wheels are lighter than factory wheels, even if the aftermarket wheels are larger. I would love to be able to get BBS LeMans wheels, but if I get other wheels it would most likely be TenzoR Passion 5's.

All rims are diferent, depending on the rim.

you also need to know if you want rims for looks or to race?

most racing rims are light in weight.

I was going to get new rims for looks, BUT I don't want to sacrafice performance. I have to make this thing faster than my motorcycle and I may need every 1/10 of a second I can get.
