Strange story...I have had to keep my srt outside for the last few weeks due to other projects...It is very clean and has a beautiful deep shine. It was sitting outside my house and every day I would come home and there would be bird poop on the passenger side window, clean it off, and it would be back the next day. I finally figured out that a bird must be perching on the mirror and taking care of his buisness. He put some very light marks in the paint, so I decided to move the car to a friends house. Buffed the marks off, and everything looked great...But birds were still doing there business on the car! Cleaned it and the very next day a huge drop was right on the hood vent. It just pissed me off. This is at a small auto lot and no other car had any thing on it?!? I was begining to wonder if the birds had it in for the neon. A few days pass and I stop by to check on things....There is three people there(all friends) and they just start laughing.....Whats going on....They say "you gotta see this, A red headed finch is attacking your car." What!!! Sure as shooting I walk over and there is this finch starring at the front of the car, then he jumps up and pecks the car. I was half pissed and half laughing my *** off. He just won't give up, he keeps attacking the car, from every angle. I try to shoo him away but he won't leave the car alone. I guess he would walk the window ledge and think that there is another bird, his reflection, and peck and attack his own reflection. Can a car be too shiney, birds in two places were doing the same thing. What do they got against the srt? Does this happen to other cars? Did I do something to **** the birds off, is this a watered down version of The Birds? The car has been moved to a secret, undisclosed location, so hopefully the birds won't be after it anymore. Birds and srts don't mix I guess. I might park it back there and shoot some video, it is hilarious, the bird was so damn determined to get the car.

Okay,,,maybe the finch is a female and she is just looking for some male companionship. Get a couple of male birds to satisfy her. All she needs is................a cockatoo.

If you can't find a male bird, see if you can satisfy her by giving her a woodpecker.

Perhaps this little finch just needs some counseling. Is there someone around you who is a cardinal?

Tell the little finch that she had better stop, because you know powerful people. Tell her that you are close friends with Dan Quayle.

Hide your car from her....make her go into withdrawls from not being around it. Make her go cold turkey.

Yeah,,,I know,,,these are so bad that you all are going to start throwing things....don't worry,,,I can protect myself. I'll "duck."

 

Well that settles it, I will put the tv out tomorrow and play old woody woodpecker cartoons, and old vice presidential debates. Man I feel relieved. There is always a simple solution to everything. Thanks word.

Bird pecking, I've heard of it, many srt's come with that, luckily I bought special bird insurance that only progressive offers. I am pretty sure there is something in the warranty about car to shiny and attracting birds. You might want to have it looked at.... lol.

This is crazy, you should've gotten it on tape, it would've been a hit on the forums and on youtube... lol.

 

i actually too have a issue with the birds. not that they attack my car (which i really wish you had gotten on video, that must have been hilarious!!!!!) but that they constantly poop on it. there are 4 other cars in my driveway, and the srt is the only one that ever has brd poop all over it. i swear, i park it overnight and in the morning there are 5 poop spots on it, and they're always in the same places regardless as to where i have parked the car. i don't get it.....

 

I think I do have a video, my friend used his camera to shoot a short video, I am going to try and download it. Or once it is sunny out again, they should be back at it, and I will get them in the act. I gotta get the car back inside, my el camino is at the house for some work, so till then, the birds will have a playmate.

 

PSIChick I hear you, I tried backing my car in to see if they would avoid the hood, but no, they switch angles and shoot for the hood anyways....theres only one other vehicle in my driveway and two in the garage, all of them are black so they can't single them out by color, but I think they like the CF hood. [:'(]

BTW that was the funniest fricken story ever.

 

Something to keep in mind, is that some animals, fish, birds, and even goats will attack their reflections. This is a very common thing. There was a goat that attacked a schools office door because it thought it saw another goat....got into the school and was running around. So yes, having your car being too shiney can indeed cause them to attack it if they see a reflection.

Sorry about the bird poop, cant help ya there Try a car cover maybe.....I used to have one for the truck...
