Interior Project part II
Okay so I got the visors back in and everything, and as it goes with any R&I job, you lose some damned screws. So I have to get over to lowe's so I can fasten everything in properly, either that or sift through my massive drawer of random nuts/bolts/screws etc that never got put back on other things LOL.
The visors need to be touched up, and I need to grab some new "Warning" label stickers. Because I had to lay on the black fabric paint from Car Brite, it seeped through the 3M tape I had over those, and caused a problem. The stickers shouldnt be too much though, I just gotta find em somewheres.
The Instrument Cluster piece and Bezel are a custom pink with silver/white pearl in it. It is cleared to a "sheen" not a "shine". I felt that if it were too shiny it wouldn't blend as well with the finish of the dash. The paint used for that is again a custom mixture using Standox's mixing bank.
Next on the list is the Sunroof cover, Im under the assumption that the glass must be removed to take it out, however I believe that I have to drop the rails as well.
Followed by:
A/B/C Interior pillars: Dark Quartz to match the dash
Oh **** Handles
Visor clips
Sunroof button bezel
Sunroof wrap-around
Now my question to you guys is....should I paint the visor pieces/button bezel/handles pink? I'm painting the bezel and clips pink for sure....but I dont know if I want the handles pink? LMK on that one.
Oh and Im taking the other vent and fiberglassing an enclosure for the Greddy Profec B Spec-II, which will probably be painted Dark Quartz to match the other vent.
Here's some pix:
Best I could do for a roof shot:

That cover has been with me since 2001. My dad bought it for me, its the only one in the world thats comfortable, and its been through 3 cars. Granted I need to clean it (working in a shop doesnt help matters any), but I love it. And since the dash lights are blue...I can get away with it
.
Plus the only ones that they make pink are flowers....or tinkerbell....or something wicked girly....and im not wicked girly. LOL

What paint did you use on the headliner and the pillers?
Headliner is Car Brite professional fabric paint sold at Autobody supply shops. Check with your local one first though, they normally dont sell to the public, but a few do.
The A-pillars will be painted with PPG paint from their Deltron system (DBC) to match the interior.
The Viper shift **** is $36 from your local dealer, its black, but comes with a viper head colored in red/blue/silver/yellow, your choice. I wouldnt recommend buying it unless you plan on having it for life. Its a threaded ****, as you know most of the shifters available to us are NOT threaded, but push-on. You need a die-grinder to cut out the threads, a cut-off wheel to take down a couple inches of the shaft on the shifter so that it has a flat space to sit on, and some door skin adhesive (black) to get it to stay on there. It cures in 24 hours, and won't EVER come off. However if you decide to buy it and install it this way, take some 3M Green adhesive tape and secure the ball with the viper's face in the correct position. I had to drive my car home that night and I couldnt touch the **** because the adhesive wasnt cured, but its best if you dont touch it for 18-24 hours if at all possible.
Its also much heavier than the stock ball so it makes for easier shifting.
Thanks for the comments/compliments guys.
And yes, pink. Because Im a girl, because I can, and because no one else has it.
