Default About that time again...

Alright, I got my turbo timer installed and I love it, but that is not the reason for this thread. I am stuck in a rut trying to decide what muffler to go with. I spoke to the guy with the EVO that I met a while ago, he is a certified mechanic getting like 45 an hour, I asked him about Megan Racing *Mufflers* and he told me that they are bad ***, that when installed correctly perform just as good as the HKS. So I am stuck trying to decide what muffler to go with, I know I had thought about the carbon fiber m-spec II but I can't find it for the price I wanted anymore. Here are two links for the two mufflers I am thinking about getting, let me know what you guys think is better. LSP Please give me your input.

If the car does not have a muffler to begin with then WHY? would you want to put one on? Would it not create more back pressure thus resulting in less HP?? -- Especially putting a huge fart can on the back??? Grose...........

Sorry bro but I beg to differ, I am sure I will get better performance with a straight exhaust instead of the Y "dual tip" our cars use.

I am sure I will get better performance, there wont be as many bends, air will flow much smoother than with the crazy Y and S bends the stock tips come with. I already have the 3" pipes on it, and the N1 that I bought is 3" inlet. I can't wait, I will get some pics up as soon as I throw it on my beast.

I know they are all called "fart cans," but if you buy them from a company like Apexi or Megan its going to look good, sound good, and perform good. It's not going to sound like a Honda because our engine's are almost 1 liter bigger than most Honda engines running around with the "fart can" Besides, were not turning 8k RPMs every day. I bought a Megan cat-back for my 240sx and loved. It has EXCELENT quality, fitment, and sounds awesome. I could run my car all day long and put my hand on the muffler (not the tip) and leave it there. Almost zero heat. The Japanese have been running this muffler design for how long now...there must be a reason for it. I’ve often though about buying a 3†turbo back exhaust and getting the muffler bent at the axle back. That way if I sell the car, who ever buys it can go for the kick to the side muffler or duel tips.

Thats the same thing I said. Fart cans are on civics and if you really think about it our cars are really no "dual exhaust" its just one single pipe all the way to the back, then they split into a Y then two S's and then the tips. I am pretty sure we lose power and I will gain alot more power with my custom exhaust. I can't wait to get it done and see the outcome.
