the additive does absolutely nothing to help the lsd. all that it actually does is reduce the noise that the dif puts out. it's for comfort purposes only. so if you don't want it in there, don't put it in. it's not going to affect anything. most of the aftermarket fluids like redline and synchromesh have the additive included in the fluid already so don't bother if you go with one of those.

The K&N filter has a 1" nut welded to the end... Makes taking it off very easy.

The additive actually has nothing to do with either gear rattle or LSD.

Each blocking ring (or stop ring) in the syncros are coated with clutch type material where they mate against their respective gear. The additive is friction modifier to enhance the performance of the syncro.

Thats it, end of story. We used to use it in the Getrag gear box for the Stealth Twin Turbo, same reason. I U don't use it, you risk syncro failure or hard shifting.

no actually that's not what it's for, and both the SRT (PVO/whatever) team and Quaife have said so. it's only for creature comforts to make the lsd a little quieter. if the additive were for the synchros then the 03's would have to use it as well. it's ONLY for the lsd, and ONLY to make it quiet.

i have used those before, i got it from autozone and they told me it came with some krazy warranty. i took it back every time i changed my oil for like a year... it helped to offset the initial cost considering i got like 2 or 3 for free.

Good arguments/input. Now on who to believe.... The Nextel Cup Series Champ or the Truck Series Champ? lol

? You took the used filter back, and got a new one every oil change? Is that what you're saying?
