i have used those before, i got it from autozone and they told me it came with some krazy warranty. i took it back every time i changed my oil for like a year... it helped to offset the initial cost considering i got like 2 or 3 for free.
? You took the used filter back, and got a new one every oil change? Is that what you're saying?

yes, exactly
would have been about 3 or 4 years ago though... im sure they changed their policy on that one. i would take in my old one and the reciept and exchange it for a new one?!? i was like uhh yeah, ok sure

Good arguments/input. Now on who to believe.... The Nextel Cup Series Champ or the Truck Series Champ? lol
Believe the TSBs that have been out since 1992 that call for the FM for this reason. (A la RIPSIGUY)

the T850 tranny is speced in europe to use the same fluid as the older T350 tranny, which calls for manual transaxle fluid with no additives of any type. once ATF+4 was released the suggested fluid was switched to that, again with no additives. the 03 T850 has the same synchros as the 04-05 transmissions, and again calls for no additives. the lsd is the reason that dcx gave for the additive, even though if you ask qualife about it they say that no additive is necessary for their unit and do not understand why mpoar insists on adding it other than to make the ride a little nicer.

actually for $6 it can hurt. the addition of the additive to atf+4 decreases the viscosity of the fluid and actually causes it to break down faster, which is the major reason for the retardedly frequent tranny fluid changes that we are required to do.

This tranny fluid choice thing is driving me nuts! I have 15k on my car and I need to be changing the transmission fluid, but I don't know what I should do.

Sooooooooo,,,,,what does ole Word do??? He starts doing research. In my search for transmission fluids, I also found something else. I have been reading about all the transmission problems on the 05's.

My transmission doesn't feel smooth, but it doesn't really lock me out, either. It's sometimes hard to get into gear and it doesn't want to downshift without rev matching. I've always known this. I thought it would loosen up....hasn't.

After reading all the stuff about the 05 transmissions, I now have a heightened sense of awareness about mine. Every time it doesn't just flow into gear, I'm thinking, "****,,,,,my transmission is going to give out."

Soooooooo,,,,I then start reading on what can be done about it, and a lot of people recommend that you use the MTF fluid, because it is a good match for the T-850 or whatever the hell it's called. However, if I do that, then guess what? I void my warranty.

Soooooooo,,,,,,,I guess I am going to go with the ATF thing, but do I buy the amosil or the valvoline? Do I buy the modifier or not? There is no clear cut answer when your car doesn't have smooth shifting.

It's no damned wonder the amish run around in wagons.

if you have an 05 and are concerned about warranty issues, your only choice is Mopar ATF+4 w/FM. there is nothing else you can do. no other fluid has been approved by mopar to meet the standards of their ATF+4 because they haven't released the numbers on it yet. if you use another fluid and mopar decides to be retarded and check your fluid, they will not honor the warranty on the transmission if it's anything other than mopar atf.

Yeah,,,,,that's kind of what I thought too, PSI. Since I'm still under warranty, I don't really see any other choice, either. Hopefully, just a change in fluid will make it feel a little more smoother.
