stripped threads on my new rims
yep i did.......i was looking at my rims today at work.........i noticed my two front center caps were loose.....there held in place by 2 allen screws
when i put the rims on for the first time.....the center caps in place........i put all the lug nuts and tighten then down.........apparently the cotter pin was binding against the center cap........so when i tighted the lug nuts the cotter pin pushed against the center cap and stripped the bolts..........so for now i took all my center caps off
its doesnt look to bad without them........i can try to make bigger threads and get a little bigger allen screw .the rear ones are fine

Hey Jeremy....if you read this......did you install your rims with the caps in place?......

My wheels have center caps on them with 5 allen keys, which were metric. Town fair tire did a job on them though, I ended up having to tap n die two holes to get them to stay on properly, and went through hell finding new allen keys for them. All in all, wheels with center caps look 100x better than those without.
ok i only had one wheel stripped....when i first seen the caps loose i tryed to tighten one down........so i probably stripped it
i did find out the real problem though.......the supplyed screws that hold the cap on are too long....and they hit the center part of the rotor....
i bought two shorter screws for one side.........and the other i tapped the hole bigger and will have it done soon as my drill battery is charged i need to enlarge the caps hole just a hair for the new screw to fit threw it ...easy as pie and it will look as good as stock...

yea it does suck....but i fixed it already and it looks good as new.....the screws being chrome plated were pricy at 2.50 a piece.....
