vacuum leaks/stage 2 high idle
so i turned my wga up to 4mm today and floored it. and now ever since that ive been at between 1500-2000 idle. and then it drops down to normal when i come to a dead stop. what is this and how do i fix it. does it have any thing to do with the wga?
where exactly do i check for vacuum leaks when i have high idle?

Im sure this is referring to your high idle thread.
Vacuum runs through hoses, theres nowhere else for it to go but inside of something, that something is almost always a hose.
Idling your rpm should be steady, but when coming off the gas and putting the clutch in to shift to nuetral with staged kits you have an "rpm hang-up". Meaning, around 2000/1800 your rpms kinda stop for a second and then go down to 1500/1300 and hang up again before finally leveling out at regular idle. Idling is when the car isn't moving, NOT when the car is moving and in the neutral gate.
The only other things that could cause that are:
- Pink line is off on the stock surge valve
- You don't have the lines capped properly if you removed any of your vac hoses off your solenoids
- TPS
- IAC
Which if the TPS or IAC voltage was off by that much of a percentage you would most definitely throw a code, but what it sounds like to me, is a staged kit "rpm hang-up" when coming down.
*Edit* another thing to check is your boost gauge, if you gauge reads between 17-21mmHG in vacuum at idle (while NOT moving), then your car is 100% vac leak free. Most SRTs run in the 19-20 range normally.

this is not any boost lines or anthing said so far this IS the tps problem, the wireing going to the tps is to short from the factory and the wire broke inside the insulation go to dodge and buy the tps wireing kit its only like 15$ and rewire the tps. i had this problem as have about 25% of srt owners. so that is your problem, it will only get worse if you leave it by the time i fugured it out my car had like a cruse control it would just sit there at 3k until i would come to a complete stop. so get it fixed and if you ask dodge they might even do it for you cause it is a problem with a **** load of srt's. any other questions?
so what exactly happened when i readjusted the wga? what does that do with a harness being too short?

it could have been anything i didnt do anything when mine started doing it i was just driving and was like wtf but im willing to bet money that thats your problem. go to srtforums and youll see there are plenty of people with that happened. dodge needs no make it a recall. but apparentlly not enought people yet with the problem or so they say which i think is bs they just dont wanna spend the money
its really weird. my high idle went away in a couple of days. i think my comp got wacky and then got normal for a second there. well its all good now just like normal. but if any one thinks of anything else that can go wrong by doing this let me know.
