SRT-4........
Hey everyone. I was wondering how everybody affords the insurance on this thing. Right now I have a 2000 Contour SVT and am looking at one of these. I'm 22 with no tickets and I work for an insurance agency. It is double the price of my car just for insurance. How much are your monthly payments? I looked on Dodge.com and it'd be roughly 400 a month for me. Anybody know how to get that lower? Thanks.
Does your insurance provider label your Contour as an SVT or do they just list it as a Contour? Because mine lists my SRT-4 as a Neon SRT-4 instead of simply as a Neon. The insurance on just my SRT-4 is $1,406 a year.[X(]
23, one ticket a year ago... around $1500 a year in Michigan... the car is completely in my name, but under an umbrella policy with my folks (most places wanted almost twice this amount a year for it!) - the insurance company knows I am the driver...
I had a 2003 svt focus 6 spd before my o4 srt-4 my insurance only jumped $17.00 for going to a year newer car. The Svt contour and srt-4 should be the same for insurance other than the price differance of it being brand new car. 28 to many ticket's for my taste but tthere coming off in a month otherwise $ 2300.00 for 6 month's but it's going to get real cheap in a month. Hey how do i get my pic to come up when i post . the pic's loaded in my profile. Thx's

I think I was about 2 weeks from having all my tickets off my record when I decided to be stupid and see what my car would do. I had only had it for about 2 months and I was out on the highway. The speed limit was only 55 though. It's 5 lanes across I think and I was in the middle when a crotch rocket came up and kind of looked over the car and then revved a few times and took off so I down shifted and gave chase just to see if I could keep up and I did very well to my surprise. Then at about 120 MPH I let off and slowed back down to 65 or 70 when another crotch rocket came up and passed and I did the same with that one but up to around 130 MPH. They must have been 600's because I think my 1000 is much faster than my SRT-4 at any speed. Anyway I let off again and backed down to 65 or 70 when I see another motorcycle coming up but he didn't pass me. He got behind me, turned on his lights, and pulled me over and his buddy went after the rockets, but I'm sure he didn't catch them.
The officer said I was doing 110+ and that's because the police motorcycles are pegged at 110 MPH. He was nice enough to let me go home WITH my car. He gave me a ticket that had my speed as 110+ but the violation was exceeding 89 MPH. Evidently they had been pacing the bikes for 3 miles probably because they couldn't catch up.
Moral of the story: These cars are fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and they can keep up with a crotch rocket(smaller ones at least) quite easily at those speeds which the officer pointed out. "Wow, you were right on that guys @$$", was the exact quote I believe. I ended up spending a lot of money that could have been put towards my SRT-4 to pay the city. I think I may have paid for a new street somewhere. I hope someday I get to drive on it. I later realized how stupid I was. Be safe on the streets everyone.

That's a good story, dude. I dunno, but if I had stopped you or anyone I know had stopped you, the first word out of our mouths wouldn't have been "Wow".....Anything other than a directive statement to the driver and/or passenger(s) to follow the officer(s) orders is asking for big trouble, usually not in the officer's favor....[:@]
