hi I just got a silver 04 SRT-4 about a month ago... I just put a K&N typhoon intake on it and im fishing for ideas of what would be better to get in a step by step process in upgrades. Im looking to start w/ some of the small stuff before getting into the stage 2 or 3.and from what i have noticed the first few things that have been suggested were wastegate,BOV, bigger spark pug wires + distributer. i was thinking about a 180 or 160 thermostat but i wasnt sure what the stock radiator can handle.
would a stage 1 be benificial, and if i added bigger injectors amd the wastegate to the stage 1 is it the same as a stage 2 w/o toys?
and ive seen talk about some loss of low end power if u put a wastegate w/ a stronger spring?
thanks for your help and i look forward to learning more about my car and what i can do w/ it

The 2004 SRT-4 already has the bigger injectors.....and no, the mods wouldn't be the same as a Stage 2 w/o toys. If you're concerned with performance, the BOV doesn't add any HP or torque, it just sounds cool.........

Okay where to start.
Ahhh alrightie...WELCOME! And congrats...prepare to go broke.
Spark Plugs: NGK Iridiums or 4306s
Spark Plug Wires: MagnaCore, MSD, etc
Stick with the stock coil
Stage 1 is an EXCELLENT base to work off of, even if you steer clear of the mopar modification route and decide to go big turbo through another company.
Wastegates, all in personal preference, but AGP and Kinetic make the two top selling WGAs out there
Short Throw Shifter....gotta have it, you just gotta. I have the Mopar, which is a 28% throw reduction, but MadDog makes them up past 50% throw reduction.
Intake, the K&N typhoon is okay, however its a 2.5" instead of a 3" which is slightly more restrictive than other systems out there.
BOV, Well you have the Mopar BOV conversion kit, which for 60 bucks is awesome. However past 19psi it tends to be a problem. Then for around $300 bucks you can buy a cold side intercooler hard pipe, adapter flange, and noisemaker of your choice which WILL hold much more boost. Popular: HKS SSQ, TiAL, Boomba
Thermostats, completely and utterly useless unless you have the fan switched to operate at ALL times or at WILL when the vehicle is on. I have a 180, which in my opinion is far better than the 160, it doesnt cause the PCM to pull nearly as much fuel and is 15 degrees cooler than stock. With a fan switch mod I run right around 165-170 all day long, rather than 210+
Exhaust, much like an intake is a MUST for any car. Think of a car as a human, if you can't breathe properly you can't run properly, and neither can a car.
