Anyone know how frequent these 'brain farts' happen on average with the PCMs? I have experienced some odd Engine codes as well that just go away on their own.....

 

i was reading my operator manual.........the check engine light will come on for simple reasons..........bad gas etc........after a few running cycles if it doesnt go off.then you need to find out whats wrong.......

if it starts blinking then you really have a problem........


in my case.not really wanting to buy a scan tool.........i go buy one at auto zone...........i get back in my car and the light goes off...........so now im going to take the scan tool back tommorow for a refund............thank you flame red for your help

 

btw auto zone rents one.but theres was out..i think they let you use it for free too

 

If its blinking you:

1. Are losing total power of the vehicle and it WILL shutdown
2. In a situation for causing severe damage to the catalytic converter.

My car has NEVER had a brain fart in 60,000 miles (yep I hit 60k today). I have one code, and its because my 02 sensor is bad.
