i got about a grand wrapped up in everything, but i did alot of extras to that system too, window switch, fuel pressure switch, electronic WOT switch, air/fuel switch, all the goodies (purge, bottle heater, blah blah)

Thanks Glaciusfor all the great info! and for easing my mind on the matter of nitrous horrors

 

i would never install nitrous in my car again.. 2 reasons...

1. it cost about 50 bucks to fill a 10 lb bottle and the way i was running through it on my firebird i ended up spending about 200 in the first month i had it installed.

2. i blew a head gasket running a 100 shot with saftey features

i would say if your going to invest a grand or more on a nitrous system your better off just buying a bigger turbo

 

well there was your problem you said it was on a firebird and unless it was a formula whe you didnt specify and most people that own one would def. specify cause thats like people with srts saying they own a neon. but anyways it was a v-6 and i know that those 3.8's arnt ment for performance and its no doubt that you blew a head gasket cause thats like throwing a 100 shot on a 2.0 neon and thinking its not going to blow thats does not prove anything about nitrous being safe or not but my .02 a 50-100 shot is safe on an srt cause they are ment for boost and nitrous is like crankin up the boost
