Welcome to Dodge Forum. The Mustang actually started life as a sporty car that quickly developed into a muscle car, but found it's performance death in the mid-to-late 70's like every car did. They, like most cars, stayed poor performing through the 80's and starting to come back in the 90's. Now their back to their muscle car roots with the retro styled version of today. I'm still desperately waiting for another Mopar muscle car with the proper layout, big high horsepower, higher torque V8, 2 door, RWD, manual transmission, AKA the Challenger R/T concept car, I can dream can't I....... I love my SRT-4, but the Challenger is perfect and what I've wanted for so very long. If the retro styled Mustang had been out a year sooner I might have gotten one instead of my SRT-4.....might.
