stage 2 1/4 mile time question
ok...i ran a 13.7 with stage 2. the weather was about 40 degrees.. you think now that its warmer that i will have a better time.. cause every one in town here is talking hella ****...they are like with the mods you got done your only running a 13.7...(by the way on stock tires).. im sick of the **** talking in this town.. well what i wanna know is can i expect faster times????
yea thats wierd.I ran a 13.2 with a wga, turboback, intake and fmic. You should of ran a better time.I think if you get good at the track you should be in low 13s.good luck to ya man and the only reason im saying you should be in 13s is because im friends with alot of stg2 owners and they are all running low 13s without turbo toys.Dont feel bad all the **** i just name off to you what i have,i ran a 13.9 LOL.Every one was like what thats f up you should be in low 13s.You know what i just got better at driving.Thats the man thing.
honestly...i am a very good driver but i never really drag raced at the track i have only been there like 3 times... i do alot of street races.. and let me tell you that street and track are 2 totally different things!!! but trust me i can drive...i just gotta get out to the track more.. the closest track is about 2 1/2 hours away so its quite a drive..if you know what i mean...

I really think you should be running quicker but the stock 205 tires are definitely hurting you. Low 13's should be expected with your mods. Your 60 ft. NEEDS to be around 2.0 with street tires. There's a lot to getting a good e.t. Don't underestimate the difficulty. I drag raced the same motorcycle for about ten years running consistent 11.5's when a friend who also happens to be a national drag motorcycle record holder was watching me and gave me a pointer on my launch. The very next run I went 11.4! New best. A couple more tries netted a couple 11.3's! I couldn't believe it. I THOUGHT I new what I was doing and was very familiar with my machine probably have close to a couple hundred drag strip runs before that. I was blown away. It was a simple throttle control tip that did it. My mph always indicated I was losing something on the launch. Since you did not post 60's and traps, it is hard for us to help. But know there is a correlation between mph and best possible e.t. So just for example, If you are running say 106 mph in the trap, then you should be running a low 13 e.t. If you got the mph, but not the e.t. then you know your leaving something on the table during the launch. But mph can be slowed by altitude or improper shift times and is by itself not a solid indicator of the cars potential. So knowing the 60 ft you are running would be the most useful to us. The first 60 ft is all about traction and launch style, hp (or lack of it) due to say altitude does not so much affect the first 60 ft since we can all pretty much spin the tires at will for all of that at any track. So it compares well track to track and car to car though the individual tracks prep is a definite factor, but if you know your buddy in a similar car at your local track can run a 2.0 and you consistently run 2.3, you need to adjust your techniques 'till you get there. The first 60 is that important.
