I've read that the mid '04-'05 axles are beefed up due to axle breakage issues. All of the horror stories I've read about broken axles have mostly been '03-'04s. Are the newer axles quite a bit tougher and beefier than the earlier years? Slick worthy?

 

well 04's are faster and black 04's are the fastest lol no all kidding aside i do believe they are all the same!

 

03 axles were weaker. they upgraded them in 04, the 04 and 05's are exactly the same. the part number for the 04-05 axles replaces the 03s, so when you get new axles it's all the newer style. i think the reason that you see more 03's and 04's breaking axles is simply because we've had our cars longer and have generally done more modifications, so more power = easier to break and axle. give it a year and 05's will be breaking them just as much as the rest of us.....
