Default FMIC?

I'm open to ideas... Front Mounted Intercooler

Brands?

Is it worth it? From people who have them please, I know the logic behind them, but I want to hear it from those that have them and use them!

Should I drop the cash and rip that "crash protection" crap out??

Thanks!

Bar and Plate, you get what you pay for.

Research them well, the ones with the best results are:
CTI
Quickwhips
Spearco
Exhaust Depot SuperBeast
AGP

Excellent cooling properties. Im looking into one myself, it'll assist with me making more power by having more efficient cooling at higher boost levels.

There are crashbars (slowboy makes one) that adapt to the larger FMICs if you want one, but some direct fits do the job just as well.

I got agp fmic.I pull like hell now in 2nd gear. But it has been on there for so long now i cant tell anymore LOL.And on the E.D Brand i know people that has got the intercoolers from him and he has even said this(you might need to make it work)LOL Why would you have to pay for somthing and then have to work on it when you get it to make it fit?Same thing with his hard pipes.I know alot of people like them but then alot of people that i have seen on srtforums and in my home down have problems with his stuff hot fiting.EXP My good friend luke got there hard pipes and he had to cut so much of the end of it to make it fit.Another one was,I was reading a post on srtforums a while back and someone on thre was asking him why the fmic dont fit right and he even said that you have to do some modding to make it work. Now i might be wrong but when people pay for somthing they should not have to fix it to make it work.Thats like i somone going out to eat and there food that they are paying for (burger) is raw. Then they tell them just go in the back in cook it some more LOLOOLO

welcome to aftermarket parts. things aren't going to fit 100% on every car. if you have to tweek it a little that's part of the game of modding. most people don't care about that because it's expected when you're dealing with aftermarket parts. it's not like our parts are expensive or anything either and 100% fitment on every car isn't a realistic expectation.

well i have had 2 other fmic on my car AND I DIDNT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO THEM TO MAKE THEM FIT.I have had hard pipes with no problem,bov,intakes,mm,ebc,c/f parts and much more and the only thing i had a problem with was my exhaust. And that fit it just feel apart in 2weeks.Myself and like i said one of my good friends and some other guys from srtforums had problems also with his stuff.I guess we all had bad luck LOL. oh and i know im going to run in to problems with modding a car.I have modd every car i have had-3000gt,gst,240sx,2 srt-4s and i even had a damn jeep i did modds to LOL.But you should not need to cut your fmic or hard pipes to make them fit. That has been the only dealer i have herd about that you have to do that to make it work.I guess i just dont like the fact that you pay 800.00 for somthing than it falls apart and the fact that you pay 500-600 for a fmic and you have to work on it as soon as you get it.Now i have never had one of his fmic this is what i have herd from some guys starting post on srtforums about.

I know Amy has heard this from me a few times, ED has been brought up at quite a few meets ive been to and i know of 5 srt's that had a lot of problems with items from them including me, so I dont recomend them. My cold side pipe was off by more than 2" and looked like a 6 year old welded it. when telling my story on srtforums i got a pretty nasty pm from (forgot his name) from ED, so i replyed and got he came back with "yeah we were pretty backed up at the time and we had to rush out some orders..." To me thats horse **** that paying 200+ bucks for two feet of bent tubing and having to use a sawsall and grinder for an hour to get it to fit.

for pipes go JMB, as for intercoolers man its up to you but its worth the coin.

ed, cti, agp, i don't care what company you go with nothing is going to fit all the time on every car, it's just not going to happen. even mopar stuff doesn't fit all the time on every car. i'm glad velo that you have modded cars, hooray for you. most of us on here have modded cars in the past and most will tell you that some slight modification is sometimes needed to fit, no matter what company you're dealing with and what car it's going on. that's just the game.

i did not have to modify anything to get my fmic to fit. it went on perfectly the first time and haven't had a problem since. i actually had an issue with my hot side pipe originally as it wouldn't stay on, so i switched out the agp hot side that i had in there and put the ed hot side back in and i haven't had a problem since. so in my case, the agp pipe did not fit and the ed did as well as the fmic fitting just right.

and believe me i know all about modifying things to fit a car. i had the psi-fi direct fit fmic before the beast and it took almost three hours to put it in because i had to cut part of the tubing off the fmic itself as well as cut an push back part of the support bar that runs down the front. it sucked. this fmic just went right on....and i was very happy. i did not want to be cutting and bending things again.

as much as people want to sit here and say "i paid $400 for a fmic i want it to fit perfectly!" it's not going to happen. $400 for a fmic the size of the best is retardedly cheap, talk to other car owners and they'll tell you. i hav a friend with a s4 and his ic's are $1600 for the pair, and each one is about 1/4 the size of the best. so in the overall sceme of aftermarket parts, we are very lucky that we can get things at the prices that we can. i can't even get mustang parts that fit right the first time and that car is 15 years old! you'd have think they would have perfected them by this time!
