easiest thing would be a 50 trim then, go dbb if you can spare the cash. things needed to do it RIGHT:

turbo/manifold
fuel return
fuel pump
injectors
something to control fuel with (dtec, emanage, etc.)
something to control boost with (e01, profec spec b, even a mbc although i don't recommend that on a upgraded turbo etc.)
stage 1 or 2 is recommended over s0

some other things that aren't necessary but should be done:
mounts
exhaust
wideband
clutch

for a properly done big turbo set up with all the supporting mods installed you're looking around 5k. it's obviously cheaper if you do the installation yourself, but you should still look into getting it tuned on either a dyno or a street tune from someone that has done it before.

Well if you want a easy turbo setup where you want need much tuning you should go with a stage 2 or stage 3 turbo. With the stage 2 since you are already at 270HP it should bring you to around 300-320 off high-octane mode and with the stage 3 340-360HP off the high octance mode.

that's not really how it works. stage 2 isn't a turbo upgrade, it's an ecu/injectors/sensor upgrade. making 300hp off s2 non-hom is not that simple. it would require s2 plus fuel mods and a fuel controller at the minimum, adding a w/i system would help that quite a bit as well. s3 non-hom is usually 300-320 depending on mods. you don't add the expected hp gains for each stage on top of the power the car is already making.

winniep - asking that question is not as simple as it would seem. each kit is designed for a specific purpose, and each individual needs to decide what they want from the car and which set up is right for them. a 50 trim is going to put out more hp obviously, but requires more tuning and supporting mods. s3 is designed as a bolt-on-and-go type of kit and is better suited imo for a daily driven car. that's not to say that a 50 trim can't be a daily driver because it most certainly can. 50 trims just need more tuning, and it's a constant tuning process. when the weather changes, time to retune. going to the track that day? have to tune. s3 doesn't require that. you just drive and the ecu does it's thing. some people prefer being able to control what's going on and like tuning the car, if that's what you want then a 50 trim is the way to go. if you want to get in the car, drive it and not have to worry about anything than s3 is a better choice. you can get similar numbers at the track from either set up, so that's not really the issue. a 50 trim has more potential for high hp/fast et's, but if you're not looking to build a 500hp/10s monster than a s3 should be plenty to keep you happy. i should also mention that the first srt into the 10's did it on a s3 turbo [ (highly modified of course). i have the s3 turbo but will most likely be swaping it out for a gt3076r over the winter. i'm spending this summer maxing out this turbo and then going bigger. for what i want, the s3 is limiting. but for those looking for a 350hp car that can drive all day and no tune then go to the track and do a low 12/high 11 you can't really ask for a better set up imo/ime. want more? go bigger. it's an individual decision that each owner must make really. it's the never ending debate.....

My goal has nothing to do with horsepower numbers. I don't care if my friend can go to the dyno and say "dude, I just laid down 445 to the wheels, you've only got 415...HA, HA, HA...." My ultimate goal is a street/strip terror that can be daily driven w/out to much fuss. I DO like to tinker and tune, but not to the point that I would need to go to the dyno everytime the wind blows from the east. I mean numbers play a part, but if I can take my 415 and spank his 445, then it's on. It just seems to me that lately "tuners" (ya I said it) have turned their attention to more of a horsepower race than a real race. If I can put down 445 to the wheels then great. If I can put down 375 to the wheels and run a better et because my cars tuned right, even better. So, I guess in a way, I lied. Maybe it is a numbers race................
I originally bought the Stage 2 with the toys so that I could upgrade to Stage 3 in a year or so. That is probably the route I'm going to take, time will only tell.
Oh, and by the way Amy (is it OK if I call you Amy, PSI Chick is kinda long winded, like this post) what is it that you want? I mean from your car? Ya know, with the gt3076r?

Oh, and by the way, what are you going to do with your Stage 3?

psi chick made a good list, but a must is exhaust and motor mounts at minimal, highly recommend the trans mount also, and the clutch will last for a lil while as long as you don't beat the hell out of it, but you will need a new clutch, and look to getting a 3" intake to get the most out of the turbo

oh, also, if you plan on going big turbo, don't set a dollar amount and don't be cheap, do it right no matter what it costs, if money is tight, wait some time until you have it all, you won't regret it in the end
