I guess they didn't take into account the fact that all cars are different, and the majority of SRT-4s make the same, or slightly more than the factory rated specifications. Nor did they take into account the fact that the SRT-4 is rated at 230 flywheel horsepower, yet still makes that to the wheels. eh?
And damn was that sentence confusing. A Chevrolet Cobalt SRT-4 makes 226 horsepower? But the SS variant makes 218? QUE PASO HOMES?!!!!!!!!

" In the same tests, the Chevrolet Cobalt SRT-4 made 226 horsepower (compared to 230 claimed), while the SS variant made 218 horsepower — an increase of 13 horsepower over the manufacturer's numbers. "
Yep, there it is in their own screwy words, WTF do they mean and what are they trying to say here. All cars power ratings are and have always been taken at the flywheel, the only difference was back pre-1971 they rated them without any accessories or exhaust which is known as gross HP ratings. After 1971 they were rated with all their power robbing accessories and their full exhaust which is the net HP ratings. With or without the accessories and exhaust they were all rated at the flywheel and I haven't heard anything about any ratings change making them show the HP ratings at the wheels, so it doesn't make any sense that they are bringing this up.
