Default P0522

Hey all,

I've benn getting this cold on & off along with the oil light. So far I haven't figured out a pattern as to when it comes on. The oil level is fine and I can't see any leaks. Any suggestions?

Your oil pressure sensor has a low voltage reading.

Meaning:
During one trip of driving if the voltage is less than 0.1 volts for a 0.5 second, the light will come on. It doesn't mean you have low oil pressure, it just means the OPS is bad.

And/OR

- There is a short in the wire
- The OPS connection to the PCM harness is shorted

Well, I checked all the wiring and can't visually see anything wrong. Should probably grab a volt meter and go back at it. I'm not to knowledgable when it comes to the electronic side of things, so I will have to get the help of my local tech (specializes in wiring/electronics). The light hasn't come on since I started this post. It is hit & miss. I think I might just replace the OPS and hope for the best....

Yeah have all the wiring checked, because it may not be the OPS itself, but the wiring either going to it, or the wiring going from it to the PCM harness/connector. Lots of fun. Electrical circuit issues are always a blast.

Again good luck and let us know how you make out.
