That's a good thing... no need to get shot while you swim out of your house. It the rain supposed to let up anytime soon? I know it's terribley uncommon to get the levels you are getting lately...

Naw, they wouldn't shoot me, I was just a buck sergeant (E-4)...they'd wait around to see if would salute anyone (an officer), and they would try to shoot them!!!! Needless to say there wasn't a lot of saluting going on!!!!

They say it SHOULD let up by the weekend. I've lived here off and on since the 1950's and this is the most rain we've ever gotten this early in the year. At least we won't have to worry about a drout this year, and maybe even the next.....[&:]

I know what your sayin'.......about the rain that is. I've never had to dodge sniper fire.....yet. Your garage ought to be a perfect for installs, rain or not.

I know what you mean. One day I went in to work and the place is on higher ground than the road on either side, it is a peninsula like Florida, and the heavy rain combined with the new sewer system that had a valve fail to open and the pumps running. This caused the sewers to be backed up with the pumps actually forcing the water back up and out of sewers sending gysers 6' into the air and flooding everything. By the time I went into work they had the pumps shut off and the water had receeded a little leaving a very narrow path of dry land for me to get to work. The water was all around us and it looked like Florida only much smaller. There is a few big trailer courts right up the road and they were flooded, some had there homes lifted from their foundations and some cars submerged to their roofs. Some of those people had to get around on boats. The worst part was that this was during this past winter and the following night the temperatures dropped causing it all to freeze.
