Chrysler Sebring?
I was driving down the street and all a sudden this Sebring I want to say 4 door sedan goes blowing by me and I hear a blow off. It had manufacturer plates on it and I talked to the guy he said it had an SRT-4 motor in it, the thing was total sleeper. Stock exhaust and everything. It like scared the **** out of me. Does anyone know if Chrysler plans on producing such a model?
-Mods, sorry if i posted this in the wrong area, didnt know where else to post it?

The Chrysler Sebring does have the same 2.4L block that's in the SRT-4.....so its completely possible. The Dodge Stratus Sedan in Mexico has the SRT-4 motor in it....factory stock option. It wasnt available here in the USA tho.
Since the current Stratus/Sebrings were stopped for the new model, I sincerely doubt that this will ever be produced, especially with the high end motor in the new Sebring being the 3.5L V6 motor.

Oh yes, you could order a JR body with a 2.4L turbo, T850 transaxle, for a short time early in the year. I think they restricted it due to the world engine change over.
In the service sections of TechConnect, there is diagnostic info for a 2.4 turbo in a JR vehicle.
Hey, a swap would be a piece of cake in that car too. Maby it was a swap????

Can you say "Mitsubishi". I don't think it will be our 'home grown' 3.5.

Everything that I've seen about it has stated it would be the same 3.5 that's used in the LX bodied cars.....so I honestly dont know. Don't really care....its going to be an anemic HP motor either way....

Not enough horsepower, not fast enough... Too much horsepower, not good enough gas milage... when will we make up our minds...

The biggest knock on the Stratus coupe was that it looked fast, but was really slow....I would think they would have learned the lesson after both the original Avenger and then the Stratus coupe.
That said, there were several 300+hp cars that got 24-28mpg on the highway....so I'm not saying this car needs 300hp....but 250hp would be nice at the very least. Especially if its going to be AWD.
