OK, I just hooked up my Stage 2 WGA last night. Took it out so the stock computer can recalibrate its stuff and behold I now have 10psi in first! Not sure if this is typical, but I'm not going to complain unless it's bad for the motor. It is also spiking 18 which falls to 14-15 at the red line which I know is ok. It wavers between 14-15 so I am thinking I need to readjust it. But I really don't want to dig through that heat shield again!

 

run the line from the wastegate to the turbo with a checkvalve inbetween them, it will completely bypass the computer, or if you have a boost controller go, WGA-BC-turbo, no check valve

 

I'm going to leave it as is right now. I just want to know if others have had boost in first with only a WGA? I am debating whether to get a cheapy MBC or save up to get one with the bells and whistles.

 

well if u really want to fix ur 1st gear boost, get stage 1

 

stage 1 doenst fix it man....trust me. I have it...thinking it would boost 15 in first. It doesnt it hits 12 and spools alot quicker for better launching. First gear feels way better with stage 1 but doesnt allow you boost 15 or anything higher then that.

I get more than 15lbs in first if im not careful because of the EBC. As long as your PCM has a say in boost, you won't boost too high in 1st gear.

Jim, take the heatshield off for a week or so (but make sure you have something protecting your wires) and freely adjust the wga like that. Or take it off, and cut the hole a bit bigger in the heatshield so its adjustable without removing the shield itself.

 

Well if you just added a S2 WGA then you dont wanna run it directly to the turbo. Just wire up the same way you had originaly with the S0. Best bet if you want more boost is get the AGP WGA and a nice EBC. The AGP will give you more power but you will incure a minor amount of PTB.

 

stage 2 wastegate is ecu controlled...this equals no or little ptb....anything like kinetic, AGP, ect will give you ptb but it really isnt a big deal like everyone makes it out to be.
