You have a good car. Good power and I like the way the gti looks. You would probably be dissapointed in the interior compared to yours. Possibly the ride quality and defiantely the sound deadening. You would save alot of money on mods going to the srt-4. I have heard of races against the new r32 and srt-4 and the srt-4 owned it. I don't know if vw have good trad in value. You would love the new power though.

I can't say that I'm familiar with the VW's, except in a performance on paper sense, but I know a modified Jetta turbo (it had at least CAI and exhaust that I know of) that got unbelieveably destroyed by my SRT-4 and all I had at the time was the Mopar BOV and MSD wires. It was like the living Bruce Lee vs. the current Christopher Reeves in a fight, very OUCH!!!! The new R32 is very impressive with the powertrain and the interior, it is the only car that I have seen or been in with better seats than an SRT-4, I was in one at the Columbus Auto Show. The SRT-4 has everything better than even the R32 except doors, the R32 only has 2 and the cockpit, the SRT-4's is too open even though the seat holds you like a frickin' bear. The SRT-4 is fun, easy to modify and very inexpensive. The only cars currently available that I would want over an SRT-4 are the Viper and the Crossfire SRT-6. I also really like the WRX STi, but I'll take an SRT-4 over it any day.

I agree with 71RR, execpt on the STi, that AWD does make a difference, yes the SRT-4 is the best bang fo the buck, and you put as much money in the SRT-4 on the price diff. of the STi and the SRT-4 the STi will be looking at taillights for a change. Now if somebody where to give me a SRT-4 or a STi and I didn't to pay for it I'd take the Subaru just because now you start throwing money into that dollar 4 dollar vs. an SRT-4 you'll do some whomping in that STi.
Back to the point, I love my '04 SRT-4 and don't regret trading my '03 Ram Q/C 4.7L one bit.

Hey, I never mentioned one word about the WRX STi's AWD or any performance differences between the two.[sm=smiley36.gif] I would love to have an STi as my winter car though.[sm=smiley2.gif] Even if I could get the SRT-4 with an alternate drivetrain, it wouldn't be AWD, it would be RWD.[sm=smiley2.gif][sm=smiley20.gif]

Its all up to you, dude. The GTi's here in Germany Kick ***!! due to the Euro Specs. As far as US Specs goes, i have no clue. And, yes i agree, what this forum says about the easy mods and the inexpensive parts you can add to the SRT. You wont be dissapointed when/if you had test drove the car. The power is there.
Believe me the "Victims" i raced, except for the Ford, 'Stang, and the 280, were Euro spec cars. The Only Mods I had was an Intake and i smoked them by 3-5 cars.

Its Da Perfect Sleeper!![sm=smiley2.gif][sm=smiley15.gif]

If you do Trade, Welcome to the Camp

peace

Like Roach said, "The power is there." Even if you don't mod it, it's still one heck of an asphalt burner. If you DO mod it, it's power is only limited by your budget. Considering the car's low initial cost, it's a win-win situation.[sm=smiley16.gif]

I like the VW too but I would still trade.I traded my 01 Civic for it and I thought I would miss my civic, but I completely forgot about it after driving the srt-4 for a while.I tell everyone who ask me about it to go get one.Today i had to let some guy in a parking lot sit in it!

Been there, done that as well. Had a civilian contractor Military Police type checking out my SRT-4 when I came out of the Fort Sam Houston PX one day. He said he had been thinking about buying one and I let him sit inside....don't know if he ever bought one, but he drove off with a smile on his face....[&:]

Mine too has caused a few new owners of SRT-4's, or at least potential owners. I even won a favorite 50 award with my SRT-4 at a car show on sunday, alot of people looked it over really hard. I also had a page on it from Motor Trend displayed, so they could see it's performance and price.[sm=smiley20.gif]
