JUST THE OTHER SAY WHEN I WAS TAKING MY DAD TO GET HIS TRUCK I PASSED A BRAND NEW VW R32. WHEN I PASSED HE NOTICED ME SO HE TURNED AROUND AND GOT BEHIND ME. WE WERE WAITING AT A RED LIGHT(TURNING) THE LIGHT TURNED AND WE WERE OFF, WELL I WAS OFF FIRST. THE VW GAVE A GOOD FIGHT, BUT ITS TO BAD FOR HIM THOUGH. WE WENT FOR A GOOD 1/4 MILE AND I WAS STILL A CAR AHEAD UNTIL A VAN GOT IN FRONT OF ME BUT THATS OK, OK FOR THE OTHER GUY BECAUSE I WAS JUST ABOUT TO PUT IN FOURTH. THOUGHT YOU PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.

 

I guess it wasn't the HPA version. HOLY SMOKES!

If I read correctly, that is a $25,000 upgrade above the normal R32. *ouch*

 

If i remember right the stage three adds about $55-75,000 to the price of the car. witch in turn u get a motion awd, turbo's,6spd and a coil over suspension among other thing's. then what would u expect from a car that has the world record for 0-30 in 3.1 sec's and a top speed over 200mph

 

that car doesnt sound worth wile to me....

Yep, stock, 30K for 6+ seconds 0-60 and 15ish 1/4 mile times, not my cup of tea For some folks maybe, just not me. That HPA thing is nuts!!!!!!!! 60K IS a great price for that performance, though. Anyone from Houston here?

 

And VW has had some serious quality issues in the past year or two...

Houston was my home away from home when I was college age. Lived near the Galleria Mall and on Bellaire Blvd....had some great times there......[sm=smiley20.gif]

 

You might want to change the typo of 0-30 in 3.1sec.(to 0-60 in 3.1 sec. or at least I hope it is if it's a 200 MPH car), because the slowest car I ever owned would do that.[sm=smiley36.gif] The R32 really are quite nice for a VW, it impressed me since it comes from VW home of the Beatle.
