Default Got my first mods :o)

Ok i broke down and bought my first mods for my 04 SRT.

My BOV (blue plate special) came in today. I allso ordered a Boost controller from 3 bar racing Inc(www.3BarRacing.com),but it wont be in for another week or so.

Ok ....... I took a crack at installing the BoV......... OMG its cramped in there and ontop of that my 1/2' wrenches dident fit..... are those bolts in Metric? If so im outa luck. I may take another crack at it but I did notice the dredded.......3rd Bolt..... ummm yeah thats gona be a BEOTCH - i cant even think of an easy way to get to that fugger. I think i may just pay what ever it takes at the dealership to have them do it. It looks to be a super pain in the ***.

Hope i have better luck when my BC comes in. Im excited about getting it.

What kinda boost lvls do you guys think i can pull w/ the boost controller? think i can bump it to round 17psi? She generally hits between 13-15 psi max.... usually sets in at 14 psi when flooring it.

No, they aren't metric, but it helps if you have small hands and off-set wrenches.....LilSparkPlug posted some install hints at the top of this page that you might want to look at. Otherwise, a dealer is going to charge you $100 or more to install one and the mechanic will hate you for life!!!

wait till it is completely cool down and reach behind the manifold to the other side for the 3rd bolt... works like a charm

oh and about the bc... you can press over 17 psi but you will throw an overboost code soon after.. either reset your pcm about everyother week or just get a stage 1 pcm ( best bet )

take out the 2 easy bolts first then swing the surge valve downward and the 3rd bolt is easier to get too

Don't forget to use some Permatex sealer on the gasket to guard against leaks.........

All you need is a 10mm racheting wrench, and a 10mm 1/4 drive.

This car is almost ALL metric with the exception of the standard sizes on the brake bleeder screws. You can basically take the car apart with a 10, 11, 12, 13, and 15.
