AEM Short Ram Intake
I read about that spot under the hood and it's relation to the air box in a Mopar magazine months before the SRT-4 was even available. That is why I suggested doing it. Free ram air, why not.
i'm just hoping that someone will manufacture a kit, instruction manual,or something to take the guess work out of the process. that way we who wanna try this mod will feel a little more couragous when taking a dremel or roto zip to a perfectly functioning hood or bonnet as they say in the uk.

If thats the problem, heres the solution:

They have intake tube wraps and insulation. And for those with high under hood temperatures due to the turbo, they also have turbo wraps.

They are not sensors, but solenoids. While they are attached TO the airbox, they do not have any connection other than the two screws that hold the bracket to the airbox. And most of the PVO vehicles seen racing these days either have the hood mod blocked off or don't have it at all. Like these two SCCA T2 cars that PVO (now SRT) is running.

All the CAI's that i have seen installed have the places for the stock sensors to be placed in the intake tube, just like stock. The AEM short ram also includes a bracket to mount all those vacum lines that are on the stock air box in a neat spot under the tube.

i just read about an "extra"bulge in the hood that is connected to the hood scoop that lies over the air inlet box. a certain magazine has speculated cutting a hole in this non existant duct would be an excellent way to facilitatecold air intake. you guys heard of anyone brave or foolish enough to try this mod on their new SRT-4? i'm presently looking into a few after market carbon fiber hoods that may already have this mod in mind when designed. i'll let you know if i find something.
