Default Mopar BOV - Lucky...So far

Just took a break so I could check the "How To" section about the BOV gasket, and just wanted to mention that I had the BOV off and ready to install the plate...in only 15 minutes! Worked on the "hard" bolt no more than 3-4 minutes using the 10mm flex-gear wrench and sneaking in from under and behind, like the girl in the photo.

--->Edit<---

Took about an hour total, because I was more careful (slower) putting it back together and I was "detailing" under the hood as I went. Already scared I kid on a bike.

Bike riders and joggers are fun! Did you use any Permatex sealer on the gasket?

I used the permatex sealer, and put mine on in January of 05....I'm running 19lbs through it now with no leaks whatsoever, and its been swapped from one stock turbo to a new one.

I used Loctite's new "stick" stuff so I wouldn't have a big smeary mess - used the smallest bit of the orange "flange sealant" on the gasket area at the turbo. Also used a thin layer of the "hi-tack" between the plate and gasket.

So long as you didn't overtighten the bolts reinstalling it you should be fine and leak free.

BTW: Nice picture of Lorissa McComas as your avatar.[sm=smiley20.gif]

I tried to not tighten too much, but I'm not sure. Would I hear a leak, or do I need to use a leak detector?

And about the Avatar, I got the idea when I first came here and thought someone was using a Lorissa photo in their signature and then I thought it was pretty cool how someone got Lorissa to pose in front of their SRT4...and then I finally figured out that the person in the photo wasn't Lorissa and was actually a photo of LilSparkPlug - even cooler. Takes me a while to catch on sometimes.
