Dear Daimler...
In california I have gotten nothing but good comments and looks from my car. Where the street racing scene is big this car does not go unoticed. Everyone wants a piece of the srt-4. I am in D.C. now and it's no different. I don't go to shows or "cruise night" becuase half the people that go don't know ish about cars anyway. I am 27 and don't really care about some teenagers comments. I was at a meet in pleasanton, ca. at an In-and-Out burgers and a bunch of kids were there. None of them knew what kind of car it was. There was about 12 of us all lined up that night. We told them what it was. They didn't know and didn't seem to be impressed but I didn't care.
just for some clarification on my original post...
The Mustang's I was cruising with respect my car, in fact, they are a bit jealous. 20 mpg, 4 people comfortably in the car, and still able to keep up (and beat) them. The GT knows I can beat him (we have raced) and loves my car! The Cobra respects it cause he knows I am right in his rearview mirror the whole time! Nothing but love from those guys! Most Mustang owners I have come across so far have been nice, respectful, and acknowledge the fact I am a contender in a battle against them.
Not all the negative comments I received were from teenagers. Many were from "men" in their 30's (?) and occassionally from women. I am not ashamed of my car. I love it. I had just gone thinking people would actually care to see a car that is incredibly quick, and is based on the same principle's as the original GTO's were... a cheap car with an insane motor setup... I guess ignorance isn't bliss....
with that, you can't exactly use the line of "well let's find out who's quicker, race what you brung, and hope you brought enough" when the guy/girl/kid is sitting in a lawn chair on the side of the road.
it's all good. it just seems it's time to start putting money into my Nova (which is "no go" in Spanish)... can't a guy get a break
ha-ha
