our insurance really is horrible
yup. downright killed musclecars back in the day. wait till the numbers show up for the shelby, challenger, camaro and hopefully t/a and cuda. plan on 200/mo. before the tickets. when mines paid for ill stash the ol' srt-4 away and break it out again under stx skin....or vin. maybe go get myself one of the big dogs if i can afford it. bet your state ranks in the top 10 as well...wonder how that 2.4 would power a jeep???oops there spensive too. have fun while you can!
The stats that kill the sports models are the fact that most of them (not mine) are driven by teenagers or drivers in their 20's (sorry, young DF members)......insurance rates go down at age 25 and for married folks for a reason. I pay $86 a month full coverage for my SRT-4 thru USAA (no tickets in over 16 years). I used to wonder why I hardly ever saw a SRT-4 in my daily driving.....now I know, a lot of them are in junkyards! That'll happen to the new Mustang and Camaro as well, but on a smaller scale since those cars are aimed to a wider market than just the "tuner/sport compact" as the SRT-4 was.......

I pay $180 a month through State farm right now. I am getting married in two weeks, so itll drop, but I am a 23 year old male, with zero tickets, EVER! I also live in small town Iowa, so I am not sure how this all plays out except, its a sports car and im a male under 25.
Just for a FYI, insurance rates are also based on ZIP codes, accidents in which you were not at fault, and your credit rating......

Hmmm. I drive the #1 and #3, I thought that owning a 4 door sedan might get me some breaks....but apparently not. I can see why, though, two recent wrecks, and usually one or two a month just here on the dodgeforum. It's going to catch up with us sometime. Drive safe everyone.

Yeah the INS on my Corvette is LESS than the INS on my SRT-4 by "around" $100 a month. I was very suprised / pissed. When i talked to the Insurance person they said that these cars are involved in far more accidents thus cost more to insure regardless of cost of vehicle, size of engin color, age of driver, and all that good stuff that they use to hike prices.
what i found the funniest was that the insurance on my TJ is more than on my SRT. i still have very cheap rates considering....850/6 months with full coverage including glass and towing on both cars.
